Missing Faces

Oh great wise ones of the Tech Support board, can you help me?

I had just left the Dark Brotherhood hideout in Cheydinhal after completing the Langourwine Blade quest. I used my Teleport to AranMathi spell and got a ctd. After restarting the game I went about my business for a minute and noticed my face was missing. The eyes and mouth are there hanging in the void but my skin is nowhere to be found. Just like this picture of my poor little character.

I tried just restarting the game again to no effect (or affect, whichever works here). I then started a new game to see if it was just my face or all. It turned out the beast races still have their faces attached, and only the "human" races are mutated.

Though I've been running this build for a bit and believe it stable here it is anyway.

I see what you are saying, however it is not just the custom race. It is all races that use the "human" head.

I just hunted down the .nif and found it to be blank in the OBMM Nifviewer. The file exists, there is just nothing inside it.

I feel like there is a reinstall in my future. I really hope I'm wrong, but what can one do to fight the forces of Oblivion's bugginess.

EDIT: I rebooted my computer and now have faces again. Seems that the bugged version was floating in the RAM. If not that's my story anyway.
