BlackSparr0w
I've been looking around to find an answer to my problem, but just can't find it, so I'm giving up. I can be playing Skyrim with no problems at all. No low fps, no lag, no weird textures. After a couple of minutes in to the game it all freezes, except the already started sounds. It stays frozen for more or less than 5 seconds. After that it keeps on running until the same thing happens again, over and over! I tried to reinstall Skyrim, and I updated it, but the problem is still there! What do I do?! D: There's nothing wrong with my computers hardware. I did just update my drivers for my gfx card. Georgiegril
Have you checked for background processes?Things like automatic updates, scheduled tasks, IM, cloud sync, etc. Things like that can seem like they are not running when you start the game, but pop up and suck up your RAM. blitzen
I had a similar problem a while back. The freezes were only for one or two seconds. It was caused by a save file size that was over 100 MB. Check the size of your save files. They should be less than 10 MB.

On Windows 7, the save files will be under your user documents location, something like C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves. The way I reduced the save file size was by deactivating some mods, such as Warzones, Wars In Skyrim, Occupy Skyrim, etc., moving the avatar to an interior of a player house, then sleeping for at least 30 days. This allows all the cells to reset and all the corpses and junk to be cleared out. That happened with the first character I created, so I believe earlier versions of those mods may have caused save file bloat. The newer characters didn't have the same problem. This may not be your problem, but it's worth checking.
