Amczek
https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/44233 Texture is missing. I tried to rename texture (To macel.dds) but still it's invisible. dds is "full", I mean it shows in photoshop. Any help? I tried to make him use chicken skeleton (from other mod) but he's still invisible. When I use different nif (for example macel.nif) game crashes. DrakeTheDragon
Ah, there seems to be a beginners mistake in the file paths to the textures inside the NIF of this mod.The file paths are "absolute" instead of "relative", which means you'll have to have the exact same installation location for your game as its author had on creation, or it won't find the textures. Missing textures/wrong texture paths "usually" result in a purple mesh, only missing normalmaps ("..._n.dds") will lead to either a pitch black or an invisible mesh instead. But sometimes, the exact cause is still unknown, the missing normalmap error will overrule the missing texture error when both are missing, and the mesh will disappear instead. Which sounds like it's exactly what you're experiencing. The file path to the texture of the rooster model in the NIF points to "c:\program files\bethesda softworks\oblivion\data\textures\creatures\clannfear\rooster.dds". Folks installing outside of program files for the sake of interference-free modding or users of the Steam version of the game will thus be screwed. The "correct" file path should just say "textures\creatures\clannfear\rooster.dds" instead, then all should work. File paths are never given absolute in this game, and texture file paths always start with "textures\..."! Luckily it's an easy fix with NifSkope inside "macel.nif".
