persian Posted August 6, 2008 Share Posted August 6, 2008 so this is how it begins, ive just installed oblivion on my pc again after a long time. the thing is every time i exit the game it crashes. meaning that all the setting i just changed in the option menu go back to default. particulaly the fact that to have resolution change to take place u have to restart the game. this mean im stuck with pooy setting every time cause it dosent save while im exiting game!!!! so can ne body tell me a way to change my setting out side the game like through a skript modification or just a plain simple damn solution!!!!!!!??? ne feed back will be helpfull. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: ( my suspicion are the vista is the roots of all probelems) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
LFact Posted August 6, 2008 Share Posted August 6, 2008 After installing some mods(even official DLCs), 'Crash on Exit' becomes pretty normal. If you change some settings, before exit the game, open console by pressing '~'(which is left of '1'), type 'saveini'. It will force to save changed configurations to your Oblivion.ini. xachan86 Posted August 14, 2008 Share Posted August 14, 2008 what i do when i make a fresh oblivion install is that i first install Oblivion (of course...) but before installing anything else (KOTN or SI or any patch or mod), i go into the game, set the settings as i want and exit. It never crashes and after that you can install anything you want, you don't care anymore about those crashes because they won't modify your settings.
