Systex Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 http://postimage.org/image/nikcxlksl/full/ I know it's a little dark, but that's due to the Realistic Lighting mod. So my problem is that these dark shadows in tight places look terrible and they penetrate everything. When a tree is supposed to obscure that rock, I can still see those black shadow things. It's quite annoying, any help?
Systex Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 A better image here. http://s835.photobucket.com/albums/zz272/xxTomahawk-iiZx/?action=view¤t=2012-06-13_00001.jpg Tried updating/reinstalling drivers, deleting .ini files, reinstalling certain mods that affect lighting. Nope. Nothing.
eric31415 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 From those images it doesn't look like you're experiencing any bugs or glitches, i think that the shadows are just too dark for your taste. Fortunately, this is very easy to fix. Open your SkyrimPrefs.iniFind the line "fShadowBiasScale=" (near the bottom of the [Display] section)The variable controls shadow intensity, lower numbers = darker shadows I currently use a value of 0.5000, to me this looks pretty good. You may want to go as high as 1.0000. At 1.5000 the shadows start to look really washed-out.
