Thieves Guild Expansion - submit jobs for the Guild

Have you ever wanted to hire the Thieves Guild to take care of your dirty work?

Well, the Guild is back on it's feet and open for business. Help us keep the jobs (and gold) coming...

 

We're asking for help in writing letters detailing job requests for the Thieves Guild. These letters will be included in a mod to expand the Thieves Guild by creating a larger role for the player as Guild Master. Everyone is welcome to contribute. You don't need any modding experience, only the ability to write a simple letter or even just a few short lines. You will be credited for any work that's included in the mod.

 

We would like to have a good range of diverse jobs and job requests. These may be written as if they are from an existing character, for example asking the Guild to intervene to acquire something for them, or they may be specifically targeting an existing NPC or shop. However, the client and/or target does not necessarily have to exist in the game, so feel free to be creative with names (just stay true to the lore of the game).

 

A few things to keep in mind:

 

~ keep it short. 1-2 page letters are what we're primarily looking for, possibly even just a few sentences would be sufficient for some jobs. A few longer letters may be included as well, but the majority should be short and simple.

 

~ keep it fairly simple. We are not looking for complex quest ideas for the Player but rather job assignments for lower-ranking members of the Guild.

 

~ keep it lore-friendly. We want this mod to blend seamlessly into the game, so any names, locations, events, etc must at least sound like they belong in the game even if they don't actually exist.

 

We can't guarantee that every letter will make it into the mod, but we're looking to have a wide range of ideas, so we will try to include as many as possible. We also reserve the right to edit or modify your letter as necessary to fit the needs of the mod.

I wasn't wealthy, but I made a decent living as a trader. I had a small small shop in Windhelm selling goods from Vvardenfell that managed to survive the eruption. The East Empire Company drove me out of business. They sent thugs to threaten me to close my shop, claiming I was infringing on their territory. When I refused, they broke into my shop and smashed my cases and took everything of value. There's no way a small trader like me can hope to make them pay. I can provide you with information on their schedule if you'll break into their offices in Windhelm and recover my items.

 

 

 

Idolaf challenged me to a horse race next week. I can't afford to lose. I need you to make sure his horse is dosed with a potion to slow the animal down. Nothing too obvious mind you, but enough to guarantee that I'll win.

The guards in Whiterun recently confiscated a valuable item of mine. They claimed it was stolen, but it's been in my family for years. My petitions to the Jarl have fallen on deaf ears. I need someone to break into the barracks and retrieve it for me.

How bout breaking someone out of prison? I know there is someone in the guild (if you talk to him) that has a background in doing just that. You'd have to get arrested in a certain hold, find this person and break them out. I think that'd be a good change of pace.
