eightpoundgorilla
Was working on modding Skyrim this morning when two different in-app updates came down (0.16.4/0.16.5). 16.4 changed up the directory structures which laid waste the to the profile that I had been working on after it attempted to "move" my downloads. So far as that is concerned, meh, whatever, its an Alpha so no big deal. Because of this I wiped the old profile, started a new one and started installing mods again. While I was working on restoring my mods under 0.16.4, 0.16.5 came down so I installed that. Most everything went fine (close to 400 mods) with the following exceptions: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59809 - This produces the error: The installer "Vivid Clouds and Fogs-59809-2-90.7z (md5: yada-yada) failed: EPERM: operation not permitted, rmdir 'D:\Games\Vortex\mods\skyrim\Vivid Clouds and Fogs-59809-2-90.installing\images'https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/22701 - The notification bell shows the install is in the "Preparing" state and it just hangs there forever. The UI is still responsive, but the install queue is basically clogged and I have to kill the application and restart.https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15703 - Similar to the above except I can select my install options and continue and then the notification bell message gets stuck on "Extracting" I recently (in the last week or so) installed all 3 of these mods just fine using 0.16.3. I also purged all 3 mods from all paths on my machine and downloaded them again from the Nexus and the behavior is still the same. I can live without these mods so this is more of an FYI post, but any advice is welcome.
Tannin42
A few things- It wasn't 0.16.4 that changed the directory structures, it was 0.16.0. If you had 0.16.3 installed before, you should have had your downloads moved when you installed that.- Have you re-tried any of those mod installs? All three install fine for me, although "Seductive Lips" does indeed take a long time in "preparing" (around 90 seconds for me). This is apparently because of some timeout, investigating now.- In the future, please don't leave out the md5 hash when you report issues regarding mod installs. Ideally you report these through the report button, this way the hash is sent along automatically. The hash is often important information when investigating issues.- Very often when you have an issue with fomod installers we also need to know which options you selected because not every configuration will expose the same problem and we can't very well try out billions of combinations. eightpoundgorilla
Apologies. That was some pretty lazy reporting and I should know better. See the following issues submitted through the app's feedback mechanism for something more appropriate: 1. EPERM: Operation is not Permitted Error (When Installing Skyrim Mod)2. Install Never Completes (When Installing Skyrim Mod)
