Body Slide troubles

ok. so NVSE has been brought up. but i'd like to say that all the other mods i've got active are functioning properly. only the unofficial patch plus mod doesn't work for me. it just straight up causes game crashes before even reaching main menu. even just by itself it does this. so with that said. is nvse pertinent to body slide stuff? also i am sad to say it's taken me to now to realize it might be a textures thing that i'm not sure how to solve seeing as i've re downloaded textures twice now. maybe it's because i've been doing this near the end of my day and might not be clear minded or something that i'm just not catching on to how to approach this. i've yet to visit the wiki that was recommended. i'll do so now. was the nvse thing brought up because it opens the game out of steam which also ties in to the fact that steam likes to change the ini back from what i want? speaking of which i need to monitor that and see if it's actually doing that for me.

Before install mods, you need to read and understand the mod requirements that are on the mod description page. It is plainly stated the the Unofficial Patch Plus requires NVSE and JIP LN NVSE Plugin.

Not having NVSE and JIP LN NVSE Plugin is the reason you are having problems with the Unofficial Patch Plus.

now that you mention it i never considered that nvse wasn't working when other mods that i thought needed it were working just dandy haha. i'm glad this has been brought to my attention now.

As long as we're on the topic of improvements for us late bloomers. I mean, I didn't really get into video games until I almost had both feet dangling into my grave. I was just sitting there mind you, getting some perspective when the fears of my siblings started to bring some insight as to why I turned out the way I did.

5. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35998/? (don't use this if you already have any mods that effect the weather installed and/or if you really don't want to experience some serious stormy weather that last for a ingame day (setting days so they last longer will really make you feel miserable if you don't like storms in real life, because the storms will likely send you running back to your nearest motel room.)

4. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/36660/? (if you're determined to make your own clothes and such you won't need to even look at this mod.)

3. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39651/? (just in case you don't have the Gun Runners GRA DLC)

2. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55112/? (careful with this, it might upset more then the weather mod)

1. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/38527/? (I'm definitely getting this, because I know my aim is a lot better. :pinch: I have had plenty of practice with Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, etc. )

i actually considered snagging the weather mod and project nevada. but i was worried that they'd run poorly on my computer since it's not very powerful and as such decided to make due with mostly original looks.

so i found this stuff. DDS file type. came with skeleton stuff to make body slide function with FNV i think. i think it isn't installed anywhere though and i'm not sure where it should go to even begin with. seeing as i couldn't find anything similar in file type by just browsing through the FNV files. maybe i'm just looking in the wrong area.

".DDS" are "texture" files. They go into the appropriate "characters" subfolder under "Data\Textures". Any decently packaged mod should include the correct folder paths under (but not necessarily including) the "Data" folder.

gotcha. well then it would seem that might not be the issue as i thought after all. seeing as they are indeed in the texture area. thanks!

Did you find and install the CBBE - for NV?

Are you having fun mixing, matching, and modding to your hearts content?

installed but still trying to make the deformity go away lol. body slide and such work just fine. it's when i am in game that the body gets jacked up. and nothing i've done so far has managed correct it more than being not stretched across the world haha

When a body part gets stretched out of shape, it's usually due to an issue with the "bone weighting" to the "armature/skeleton". Some bodies require certain anchor points that are not in the default game skeleton. Most common examples are "BnB" mods. Check that you have the skeleton required by CBBE installed. "Humanoids" all use the same skeleton. "Creatures" use different common ones depending upon body type. See the "Deformed body parts" entry in the TESTG "Troubleshooting" section.
