Easy question from newbie.

Hello everyone. I have just started to create mod. I was used CK, changed values of some items then saved mod as mymod1.esp

Then i have changed attributes to few perks with Tes5Edit (people told me Tes5Edit more suitable for this work) then saved it.

Now i am opening my mod (zzz2.esp) with Tes5Edit and i can see my changes but when i need to edit new item, i can't.

Question is, should i open zzz2.esp with CK and continue modding?

OR is there another way to do everything with Tes5Edit?

why can't you edit anything new in xEdit after saving the plugin?

you should always be able to edit things there , unless somehow your plugin became read only (not sure if it's possible , and what would happen if it had)

point is , there should be no reason why you shouldn't be able to keep editing your plugin in xEdit , and you should keep using that unless you must use the CK

what do you see when you try to edit the plugin in xEdit? could you post an image of the error you get , or whatever it is that's preventing you from editing the plugin?

Hmmm xEdit is Tes5Edit? Sure let me show you. It is my .esp file (i have changed attributes of robes) and i want to change values of armors too.

But when i try to edit, i cannot change anything in here.

Question is, should i open CK again? Because as i understand, with the xEdit i can only change the values that have been changed with CK.

sorry , when I say xEdit I mean any of the Edit tools . there is one for every Bethesda game , so instead of writing the full name , xEdit is shorter and easier

as a general rule of thumb , never edit anything inside any of the official plugins

this could potentially break the game , and it's never advised

instead , right click on the entry , copy as override into , choose your plugin and now you should have that entry in your plugin , and you should be able to edit it

and you can use control to tag several entries , so you don't have to do the process for each individual one (though the editing is done one entry at a time , unless you can make a patcher that would do that , and I'm not too familiar with these)
