Deleted2993601User
Yeah you only have 1MB of l2 cache, that combined with the 2.3Ghz processor speed is probably not very good for anything intensive like skyrim. I assumed as much. :/ When I get enough money, this shitty excuse of a laptop is seeing its end and me buying a new one with good specs.
blackwolf001
He he I love how you say those specs are sooo bad .. I play Skyrim .. just ... lol ... It plays ok .. I modified the ini files so no shadows or grass etc .. unless steam decides to auto return it to basics :( but anyway my stats are: Intel SU4100 (1.3 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)Intel GMA 4500MHD ... I am assuming this is the GPU :) with all of 64 MB Graphics RAM .. ha ha ha ... Tried to change it in BIOS but it is set ... In the specs printed on a label on the laptop it says up to 1695 MB DVMT ... Dynamic RAM allocation to GPU ???? wow what a waste .. 4GB DDR3 RAM Windows & 64 bit ... lol Windoze sometimes :) So why complain?? At least I can play the game .. movement can suck .. lol .. Lucky to get 10FPS ... he he ... I can search and move .. just fight .. lol .. What I would like is the option to turn off the shiny surfaces and bloom so that the GPU isnt so tested out by them ... AT least I dont get CTD like in Oblivion .. lol . .. funny that one .. ctd Oblivion and not with Skyrim .. hahaha Of course low res graphics would be nice so that I could run it better ... sometimes I have to wait .. I have to play with TIM command so I dont die so easy .. he he ok I dont die at all .. Anyway when you have my specs then complain .. he he he ... I understand your complaints .. A fix to drop the graphics to a low res would be nice, losing the "shine from bloom" I dont care what the game looks like I just want to play better and fairer without having to use TGM or TIM modes... Apart from this .. great game :) Edited June 16, 2012 by blackwolf001

Hailfire01
Heh. I use this for my crummy integrated Intel i3 390M processor. I can actually play skyrim 0_o http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15123Where do I place the file? Main folder or Data directory?
NexusComa
Here is a good trick that I used when my PC was just to slow for Skyrim ... Edit the SkyrimPrefs.iniUse Ctrl+F and search for the word Shadow. Edit each entree to be a 0 or 0.0000 depending on if it's a float or not.If the entree also has the word resolution in it set that to 512 Same with Skyrim.iniwith the exception of fSunShadowUpdateTime=0.5 This will make your FPS jump up a lot and improve performance drastically. Yes, make a back up before you start. Edited December 28, 2016 by NexusComa
