Okay I have 49 mods installed into skyrim most which I don't think will have any effect but i'm not sure (hence why i'm here),

System specs are:

Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit (6.1, Build 7601

Bios: Bios date: 08/24/10 17:44:48 Ver: 08.02

Processor: AMD Athlon II x4 640 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.0ghz

Memory 4086md RAM

Page file: 2274md used 5912 mb available

DirectX 11.

As for the mods that (i think) might effect the graphics are SkyUI with the skyrim script extender, I have better males and females, recently installed build your own home and claralux More and brighter lights, Evil overlord Tower Quest, FNIS and Confidence Mod ENB.

If there is any more detail anyone needs please feel free to ask.

I'm having the same problem. It has something to do with the game update. Issue happened right after with no new mods installed and seems to effect any fire, including those from spells like seen in the above screenshot, and some other spells as well, though not quite as bad.

Same exact problem here. Running Win 7, Intel i7, ATI Radeon 8500 series. When my companion is carrying a torch and I'm not looking her way, everything is fine but as soon as I give her a glance my screen starts to strobe. Same goes with any magical effects that involve lighting or shimmering... pretty much just as AugieKS describes it.

I've got three mods running (CBBE Body, CBBE armor, and panty fix). Disabling them didn't help.

Okay, I checked my ATI Radeon driver and it was 8.85xxx? and Windows claimed that it was up to date. I googled for a new driver and found one at the AMD site:

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonaiw_vista64.aspx?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.42&lang=us&rev=&ostype=Windows%207%20-%2064-Bit%20Edition

... and installed it. Went into Skyrim for about 15 seconds and the flicker/strobe was GONE and things look good to go (for now). Glad it doesn't appear to be the mods. I really like the CBBE body mod and the excellent remodeled armor by MAk. MAK's work is pretty impressive and so much better than the vanilla armor:)

I have been reading that this is a huge problem after the Mounted combat patch (which I believe is 1.4 but I am old and feeble and keep forgetting which version we are now running). Bethesda is aware of the problem and is making a new patch now to fix the CTD's. The new patch may not work with your mods. You may have to dump some ofyour favorite mods, especially mods that change the graphics. I turned off all my mods that chnage the graphics and I am still having CTD's and wierd graphic errors where dungeons are missing floors and walls. If I turn off all my mods completely then load the game the issue goes away and I can go back and re-enable my mods and the graphic issues go away but I still encounter CTD's when doing anything in 3rd person. Turning off all my mods (which makes my toon look like a bald eyeless horrible looking women becuase I am running apachi hair and Kawaii faces) does not fix the ctd's. I have complete uninstalled the game and steam and deleted the directory and the .ini files and all files in my documents directory and did a completely new install and I still have the CTD's. (My graphic errors only happen when I have mod's turned on and I wouldn't be surprised if this was an update from one of my steam mods becuase you have no way of controlling wethere the mod updates or not. All somone has to do is make a mod that you download then go into their creation kit and start destroying dungeons and then save the game changes to their plug in and upload it to steam as a "new update" and anyone who has that persons mod is going to have a broken game. It's to dificult to track which mods can break your game so I suggest only using Nexus mods and unsuscribing to all steam mods. I have finally done that and I haven't had any wierd graphic problems or missing floors in my dungeon. As for the CTD's we'll have to wait for this fix bethesda is putting togeather but I have a feeling all my favorite mods are going to have to be removed. Hopefuly someone will put out updated versions of em becuase I can't live with out my sexy armor mods or my midas magic. Oh yeah, and that mod that adds f*** tons of more monsters to the game. That modder rocks who ever he is.
