  1. Check that the presets are installed in the right folder. Mod managers don't always place them correctly. They should be in \Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\Plugins\F4EE\Presets
  2. There are mods that help with performance, but you didn't mention if you have any installed. Check the Nexus FO4 mod category "Performance": - BethINI at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) - Super Low End GPU ini files at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) Also for example, disable the high res texture DLC and install something like Vivid Fallout - All in One at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) instead.
  3. I used AWKCR and Armorsmith Extended for quite a while as well, but since neither are getting any more updates and along with their fair share of issues, there are better alternatives these days. See DankRafft's ECO Redux, LEO and his other mods, for example. It's also worth noting that there's non-AWKCR versions for most mods: No AWKCR and AE For Mods File Dump at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)
  4. I had the same trouble with the Serene Textures as well. I ended up using different textures in the end, since I couldn't find a fix and tinkering with the textures themselves is really not my idea of fun. Also, the "Brown Face bug fix script update" from HiPoly Faces REDUX (Seamless Kit - CBBE - TWB - FG) didn't help either. But maybe the following articles will be helpful. Notes on the Rusty Face Bug aka Brown Face Bug. Causes and Solutions. at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) 2K Face and 4k Face Tutorial for those stuck in the brown face at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)
  5. BigBallsLarry Thanks for the tips regarding load order that you posted here. I've applied the them to my LO just in case. With the high poly faces brown face bugfix script update you don't have to fiddle around with textures, the script takes care of that (at least for the player char). I haven't had problems with companion's brown faces in a while, not sure if that's just luck or not (: At some point I was using one of the separate bugfix mods.
  6. Hello. THAT issue has been around since Skyrim... Game engine issues. What StormWolf posted, definitely disable the hi-res DLC, there's plenty of great texture replacers to choose from. I don't know about the technical side of things but there are a couple of mods that deal with the brown face problem. I can post them if you like.
  7. Try Buffout 4 - it has some requirements for it, but it creates crash logs with pointers to possible causes (and fixes a few issues as well). Buffout 4 at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) For some extra help with the crash logs there's also Buffout 4 - Crash Log Scanner GUI at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) Edit: If you don't absolutely need Armorsmith (which has a few issues, performance and otherwise), ECO is a great alternative: Equipment and Crafting Overhaul (ECO) at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)
  8. "I don't believe it is caused by my mods because i had them since the beginning. " Perhaps. It would still help if you listed your installed mods, though.
  9. More info needed! What mods have you installed(graphics+FX mods)? Your system specs and game version would help as well.
