Master Marksman
There appears to be no age group for 15 or under, which i would fit into now, but I started playing at about 13 like Gamerbird.

CrimsonKing1990
19Â I'm surprised how many people are 40+. I expected the 19-25 to have the majority.
RGMage2
I think I'm turning 51 soon, (I'd have to do the math to be sure) not that it actually matters. I know there was nothing really intended with this poll, but I believe there is significant information here for the gaming industry. Assuming that some of the 26-30 category are indeed 30, that would suggest that those 30 and over are approximately 50% of the players. This is important info for a company like Bethesda. From a marketing perspective the big difference between older people and younger people is that older people have more disposable income, making them an attractive choice to target a product towards.  I suspect that many in the gaming industry have been of the impression that although older people had the money, they were less likely to spend it on a video game. The results of a poll like this shows that older people will buy video games if you give them what they want. They also are more able to buy high end GPU's. Hopefully what this will mean in the future is more games like Oblivion, and continued improvement of graphics quality.  ----------------------------------- Over the hill? I think of it as over the hump. Many of those who are not yet over the hump are still struggling to get by in life, (not just financially, but psychologically as well). While many of us who have climbed over the hump are now cruising through life and enjoying the view as we go.  ------------------------------------ Thinking of setting up my 73 year old mother with a gaming rig and Oblivion. She plays a lot of computer games now, but mostly older and more primitive games that her computer can handle. I think she would love Oblivion.

bben46
For those surprised at the number of older players, Who do you thing invented computer games? The people who are over 60 invented the first ones. Then as each generation came, they joined with the oldsters. I played computer games by sending off a move and waiting 24 hours for a result from a mainframe computer running in batch mode. Me, and others like me found ways to speed up that 24 hour delay. Within a year or two we were playing in near realtime on 'mini' computers ( they fit in a 19 inch rack and weighed less than a ton) It keeps getting better every year. I can't wait to see what we get to play with in another 10 years.
