TN or IPS Panel

Recommended Posts

Hello guys. So, my brain is blocked after 4 days of research about this topic.
I play a lot of FPS (CS:GO, COD, PUBG) and i also love to play Skyrim (with a lot of visual mods for better graphics).

TN (1ms) and IPS (4ms), will i notice 3ms difference in FPS games?

I know IPS brings a better color/image (which is perfect for Skyrim) but is more 150$ than a TN Panel.

This is my problem. I am confused about choosing either of this monitors:

- https://www.amazon.com/PG278QR-2560x1440-DisplayPort-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B07GW7ZWP2/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1537979061&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=ASUS+ROG+Swift+PG278qr&psc=1

One is IPS (better for Skyrim) the other is TN (better for FPS).
For what i found, TN panels suffer from color branding and IPS suffer from glow and blacklight bleeding, but this is told by some people, not everyone who owns both TN and IPS monitors.

Main questions: will i notice the 3ms? isn't the TN panel enough for skyrim? Is it worth to pay more 150$ for an IPS?

Unless you're a competitive gamer, the 3ms difference will likely be unnoticeable. I would go with the better colors on the IPS.

Seeing as you're going with a 1440p G-Sync panel, you're going to need some serious GPU horsepower to fully utilize it. Am I right to assume you have a decent GPU?
