I need to know what mods do increase weapon damage

Let me explain: I have a pretty modded game and lately been adding some new ones, but nothing really weapon or item related, yet I've noticed weapons damage values in pip-boy and in the game seem to have increased abnormally, regardless of said weapons skill or SPECIAL stats, like the brass knuckles do 40 something damage with 10 unarmed skill, the 44 revolver does 80 damage, 357 revolver does 60, the gauss rifle does 250 something damage, I've one shot every deathclaw and it just feels really overpowered, I've tried maxing out the difficulty in the game settings but to no avail.

If anyone can look down my modlist and tell me what mod do you think might be giving me these outrageous weapon damage values, or maybe if it's some load order issue, please help me

Sorry, you have too many mods I don't know to say "this one". However, that is 182 plugins, which is well over the 130-140 cap. Strange things occur when that happens. Try temporarily reducing to under 130 just to see what happens. Drop things that won't affect damage, such as "Nights are Darker".

In addition, you don't have a "Bash/Merged Patch" file to resolve record level conflicts. (A "smashed patch" does NOT resolve record level conflicts. See the "Merged Plugin Guidelines for Personal Use" wiki article which discusses the differences between types of "patches".) Please see the 'Third Rule: The Rule of One' and 'Merge Patch File' sections of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.

Once you have a "Bashed Patch" (BP), select a weapon still doing an unexpected amount of damage, open your entire "load order" in FNVEdit and select the BP plugin, expand the "weapons" records, and find the chosen weapon. Then look in the right-hand pane "View" tab for the damage values each of the plugins affecting that record are providing. The one(s) that match the values in the "BP" plugin are the "winner" of the conflict and the source of the values used. Also check the "ammunition" and "ammo effect" records in the same manner.

well im not exactly a modlist rocket scientist but i am trying to get by. so i merged similar plugins into single ones and reduced the count to 110, below the said limit. i also made a merged patch, smashed patch and bashed patch and fiddled with the load order to what i thought was good i think.

anyway the bashed patch shows the vanilla weapon base damage values in fnvedit, ammunitions the same, but in game all the weapons have much higher damage in the pip boy, things like the cleaver showing 30 something damage and 10mm pistol 60ish damage. now honestly I have quite some mods that make combat a lot deadlier, but i didnt notice the high pip boy damage values only recently, the gunplay still plays out the same, getting shot usually means you're dead, so i'm thinking: maybe the damage was always the same but only recently the pip boy value changed to higher ones? maybe this is intended?? the think is i dont remember reading higher weapon damage in the description of any mods.

if anyone thinks its necesary to see my revised load order ill post it

Have you seen how "combat damage" is calculated? While the various variables are "multipliers", most are fractionals. Mods which are intended to make combat deadlier have to affect at least one of those variable factors. As I recall, the Pipboy is just showing the weapon "base damage".

The only thing that mitigates the damage from a weapon is the DT and DR of your armor. Not all have either or both. "Deadlier" mods are typically based upon the premise of "don't get hit by anything penetrating your armor even once"! Taking increased amounts of damage is sort of assumed. Playing the game on higher difficulty skews the damage given and taken inversely proportionally towards the benefit for yourself (easy) or the enemy (hard). "Normal" applies it the same to both sides. Please see the "Issue: 'Difficulty' setting causes Player and NPC damage to be 'unbalanced' " entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" article.

If you can't figure out where the damage is coming from by way of FNVEdit, you are probably going to have to try removing some mods and then re-installing them one by one and checking the Pipboy weapon damage values to see which is bumping it up. My suspects would be "Unforgiving Combat", "Threshold", and "JSawyer's" in that order.

FIXED IT!

i tried turning on gradually most of the combat-related mods, to no avail, the damage was still high, but then I tried turning off Cover Based Stealth by Bashar and the damage reverted to vanilla. After reading the mods description I realized while rushing to configure the mod to my own stupidity I checked "Bashar's Selection" as the preset and that modified all damage in the game to 300%. Other people on the mod page complained about similar issues when used together with the BLEED mod, so I changed the preset to another one that only changes stealth.

I wouldnt have thought that a stealth mod could totally wreck the damage calculation and make the game so "deathly" haha. So yeah at least I cleaned up my load order and the problem was in fact my severe lack of patience to thoroughly read the mod description.

Thanks to everyone that replied !!

Good to hear you resolved it. It's a surprise to me that "Cover Based Stealth" includes damage modifications as well. Just another example of why one really needs to carefully read the description (and comments) of a mod rather than assuming the title says it all. Don't sweat it. We've all had to learn that lesson the hard way.

Thanks for reporting the resolution. Go forth and have fun.
