How to make barrels non-respawning and lighting issues

Hello! I'm hoping for some help with a home mod I'm trying to make. The first issue is that I'd like to have food barrels that can be used as permanent storage for food in a kitchen-like area, but the menu has 'respawn' checked and unable to be unchecked.

I'm also having issues with lighting. Last time I had CK up, when I went to the location ingame it was well-lit and bright (although it looked dark in the CK with the light function turned off.) Now, however, ingame it's almost pitch black, even the candles and fire I've put up casting very little light.

Thanks to anyone who can lend a helping hand!

(You need to change the property of the base object but if you do it will make that change to every barrel like that in the game, so make your own non-respawning version:)

- Click "Edit Base" from the window where you have the greyed out respawn option

- In new window change the name of the item from e.g Barrel01 to e.g thimbletwixBarrel01

- Uncheck the respawn box in this window

- Click OK

- Click "yes" when you it asks you if you want to create a new object.

- Use thimbletwixBarrel01 in your kitchen

Fires and candles don't create light in the room other than the flames of the object, you need to use light markers. With "the light function turned off" in the CK, that is (basically) what it will look like in game - the light function "turned on" is just a bright light mode so you can see what you're working on properly in the CK.

Thanks! :D I'll set up the barrels now. And sorry, I should have clarified in my original post - I am using lighting markers with the candles and fire, and the first time it looked bright ingame, but the next time I loaded CK and went ingame it was dark, even with the same lighting markers in place, so I'm not really sure what's going on. Thanks for the advice on the barrels!

I did think you might mean that ;)

Have you changed the cell's imagespace or ambient lighting (in World/Cells)?

OK it's officially not just you.

I've just gone back into a dungeon I've been working on but haven't opened it since the CK updated and now I have the same issue - my shadow casting lights are all non functional and "red-crossed" in the CK. All non-shadow lighting is fine though.

I've had issues with the CK updates messing up lighting before, but not this bad - previously I've just had to play with the light radius or re-place the markers and it resolved the issue (I think the updates make some changes to the "rules" on how it calculates the light marker data/how many lights are "allowed" etc) but this time I cannot do anything to make any shadow lights functional at all. Not even by stripping down to only one per cell.

I'm testing further but I THINK your lighting issue might be connected to the CK update.

EDIT: sorry ignore the above I'm working again now, even more confused :)
