Taking out hostile robots and sentry guns gives bad karma?

Hey, all

 

I'm in the Cargo Hold in Mothership Zeta testing that my MMM RC 6.2 update has solved my CTD issues. It sorta has because they aren't as frequent as before (THANK GOODNESS) and I suspect this issue is persisting due my AMD Catalyst Control Center and my Radeon card as I just read in about another post here as being a potential source of trouble. I will investigate that on my own.

 

However, I've noticed that I'm getting bad karma for taking out Drones and Sentry Guns which are clearly hostile. This also happens anywhere in the Wasteland with hostile machines. What could be causing this?

Robot behaviour in the vanilla game is sometimes a little "off". I have noticed that sometimes robots will first show up on radar as "friendly" but then go hostile as soon as they detect you. Is this happening at all, or are they autopmtically hostile? Edited by 7thsealord

Hello Dave. We meet again.

 

You should update both Fallout Remastered (don't forget to update the patches too!) and Dynamic Weather to the latest versions.

 

And make sure you install the "Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Main + DLC Merged.esp" plugin for dynamic weather instead of using all the seperate patches for the DLC's. Failure to do so will result in your game crashing at startup.

 

And put the Enhanced Weather plugins below the Fellout plugins.

I downloaded all the Fallout Remastered files and Dynamic Weather files to my Data Folder. I unchecked and deleted all of Xepha's previous versions using FOMM. Tried to start a game to save one and CTD. Checked my Load Order and unchecked the Fallout Remastered comp mods for Dynamic Weather and Darkened Interiors. Game started fine and I was able to save. Whew! Cleared my Data file of the old Xepha files (since FOMM only deletes them from it's list and all the .txt files so I can see things more clearly. I also adjusted the Load Order per your recommendations.

1. Uncheck and Delete old Fallout Remastered along with both Xepha mods?

2. Check Fallout Remastered 1.0 esp.

3. Attempt to Start game and Load last save.

4. Check XDM - Main + DLC Merged, Dynamic Sneak Bonus, Night Eye Edition, Rain, Sandstorms and Weather Machine.

4a.Check all XDI esps.

5. Attempt to Start game and Load last save.

6. Delete XDM Anchorage (NEE), Night Eye Edition Merged (NEE+OA+Rain), and Rain.esps.

7. Have fun!

Not entirely. You only have to delete Remastered and it's patches and Xepha's Dynamic Weather and all of it's plugins. Darkened interiors can be safely ignored.

 

Btw: Which version of Remastered did you download? There's a version with increased running speed and one with default running speed.

 

2: Install the newest versions of Xepha's Dynamic Weather and Fallout Remastered and whichever of it's patches you need. (see load order examples below for the plugins/patches)

 

3:

Make sure that all Dynamic Weather plugins are as low as possible in the load order. Which plugins? In the right order, these:

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Main + DLC Merged.esp

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Rain.esp

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Night Eye Edition Merged (NEE+OA+Rain).esp

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Sandstorms.esp

 

(the last 3 plugins are merely optional of course)

 

4:

Put Remastered and all of it's patches below Dynamic Weather's patches. Like this:

I have DL'd and updated Fallout Remastered and Xepha's Weather. I chose the version FR that has the default running speed. I tried selecting only the Xepha mods you listed, however the game will not load. I can only load my last save if I uncheck every Xepha mod and the FR mod for Xepha. It would seem you're missing "Xepha's Dynamic Weather.esm" (the master file) That's why your game will crash at startup when you enable any of Dynamic Weather's plugins.

 

I thought I had that with the Main + DLC Merged.esp?

 

Scratch that. Now I'm REALLY confused!! I don't know where that file came from! I just DL'd the plugin again and that file is nowhere to be found! Guess I'll delete all the ones I have and do a fresh install.

 

SUCCESS!! Oh, sweet victory! Have all plugin including optionals installed and the game starts as smooth as a baby's backside! WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!

 

Now to see if the hostile status of robots and sentry guns will give me bad karma when they are destroyed. Testing will have to wait, as it's a beautiful day and we're going to head for the hills!

Hehe. You're welcome. Though I think you actually took a kudos away now.

 

Also, I didn't really mention it at first, but patching those 2 mods to the latest version will not fix the bad karma issue yet. It's something we're still looking into.
