Cronsky
Computer specsRam = 4gbGraphics = ATI Radeon HD 5450~Memory = 2.7gb~Allocated memory is 1gbProcessor = 3.20ghzWindows 7...Now, that all looks decent, right? 2.7gb of memory is really good, but for some reason, I can only run skyrim on around 1400x1000 resolution on medium graphics. It's terrible... I know a lot of other people with a little bit better graphics cards that can run skyrim on ultra settings and high resolution. I have all the newest drivers as well. I asked a few of my friends and they said increasing my ram to 8gb will help a lot. They also suggested getting a new graphics card entirely, which isn't a bad idea because we all know ATI aren't good. But that aside, could anyone please help me by giving me tips to increase my FPS. It's like this for every game, not just skyrim... it's even worse on other games. I tried de-fragging, deleting all useless programs, giving skyrim highest priority, etc. None of it works.... Illiad86
Going from 4 to 8GB won't give you much of a jump in performance, but DDR3 RAM is so cheap now, why not get some more? :P Deffo need a new graphics card. The 5450 is meant for general Internet/business type stuff. It's just powerful enough to run HD video and that's it. Slow MHz, barely any stream processors. You are not going to get any increase in FPS until you get a new graphics card, sorry :( How much are you willing to spend? For about $150 you can get a card that can run Skyrim on High/Ultra. Cronsky
$200. I already looked into some cards, was just seeing if I could increase the performance of what I have now. Thanks for the help and quick reply
Illiad86
Ah well, that's nice. You can get a nice mid-range card at that price :) Yeah, sorry you couldn't increase it anymore that what you have. But getting a new graphics card will have you set for playing games for a few more years :)
