Heartcloud
Can anyone help list all the major and permanent changes by joining either imperials or stormcloaks? I've completed the game once joining the imperials and so far found these changes: - Brunwulf Free-Winter replaces Ulfric as jarl of Windhelm (I think it's a plus)- Maven Blackbriar replaces Laila Law-Giver as jarl of Riften (definitely a minus, Maven is one of my least favourite characters in Skyrim)- Brina replaces Skald as jarl of Dawnstar or Winterhold can't remember which (definitely a plus)- Most windhelm citizens are now unfriendly to player (don't really care) Any other major changes by joining imperials? What about joining stormcloaks? Which jarls are replaced? I think the whiterun jarl Balgruuf is replaced? He's one of my favourite jarls and one of the reasons I'm hesitating to restart the game and join stormcloaks. Aside from the Jarl's changing and the beginning quest being different and the Imperials giving you an option of better armor, I don't believe there are any other differences besides the guards changing in the holds and if you had any quests started before the civil war conclusion you have to find the old jarls to complete them. Kraeten
Maven Blackbriar replaces Laila Law-Giver as jarl of Riften (definitely a minus, Maven is one of my least favourite characters in Skyrim) I strongly suspect Maven had all the real authority to begin with, so for her to officially be Jarl makes little difference imo. What about joining stormcloaks? Which jarls are replaced? Balgruuf gets replaced by one of the Graymanes, the one with the handle bar mustache. He pretty much always greets you with "You're not as stupid as you look." :pinch: The Jarl of Markarth is replaced by Thonar Silver-Blood, which again isn't much of a real change of power considering the Silver Bloods have all the guards in their pockets before the civil war anyway. The young pompous Jarl of Falreath is replaced by the paranoid old Dengir(sp?), who served as Jarl before his cousin replaced him. Elisef remains as Jarl of Solitude, as a public display of Ulfric's mercy. Those are all the power changes I can think of, and really that's all the effect you have on Skyrim pertaining to the civil war. Kraeten
I wouldn't have become a stormcloak if i had known Maven Bitchbriar would become jarl D: Maven doesn't become Jarl if you side with the Stormcloaks...so you're fine.

kevkiev
I wasn't able to play stormcloak cuzza crazy bugs happening in my game with that questline, but I posted a thread about the Thalmor presence after a stormcloak victory and it seems that if the stormcloaks win there's no more Thalmor patrols and no more Thalmor enforcers in Markarth after the war. Heartcloud
Thanks for the info.I wish there was a console command to switch jarls.
sukeban
There's also heaps of burning things and rubble laying about in at least two cities (Whiterun + Solitude/Windhelm). Poor Heimskr's house gets destroyed :D Pretty sure you also get bad-mouthed in Solitude if you finish as a Stormcloak. And you can find all of the deposed Jarls in the basement of either Solitude or Windhelm. Needless to say, they're no longer fond of you. Some NPCs in Whiterun have new dialogue after the siege. You cannot complete a certain "peace deal" quest if one side holds only their capital province or has been eliminated. Nothing gameplay-wise really "changes" though. Most/all NPCs still make asinine comments about how the war is still going on :-( The Thalmor embassy still continues on as if they're still welcome, even if the Stormcloaks win. Argonians still live outside of Windhelm even if Imperials win. Technically, you are told to "hunt down the remainders" of the enemy army, but their commanders are Essential are cannot be killed. Eventually, the camps all respawn. There's probably more, but as you can see, it's likely to be underwhelming.
Tidus44
Technically, you are told to "hunt down the remainders" of the enemy army, but their commanders are Essential are cannot be killed. Eventually, the camps all respawn. If this is true, then I have the weirdest game glitch ever. I just checked my game and all the Imperial camps I know of and just checked are empty. If what you say is true, and I have no reason to doubt, but that isn't the way my game is going. After the civil war (I joined Stormcloak this play through) I had been hitting Empire camps as I ran across them and killed everyone in the camp - including the Legate. I'm well over 200 hours in this play through and one of the first camps I hit after the war was outside of Markarth and it has never respawned, (its still empty as I just checked). The only camp I have noted any difference is the one near Dawnstar is no longer there. I can't seem to find anything reliable that says the game should play one way or the other or what the respawn time would be. Thoughts?
