MacSuibhne
As per the title...is there one safe house, one safe place that I can store stuff in that I will still own or have access to no matter whose side I choose, no matter who wins?
Kraeten
As per the title...is there one safe house, one safe place that I can store stuff in that I will still own or have access to no matter whose side I choose, no matter who wins? Once you've purchased a player home, it's yours no matter what. For example, if you've purchased Breezehome before laying siege to Whiterun as a Stormcloak the house will still be yours after Jarl Balgruuf is deposed. To buy some of the houses though, you have to be careful of what quests you choose. To buy the Markarth house I believe you have to save the forsworn conspiracy quest for last or some such. If you don't want to bother with any of that, you could always try mods. There are plenty of neutral houses and even ones that you can customize to suit your tastes like the Build Your Own Home mod. MacSuibhne
I didn't know that. For some reason (think it was a post detailing why it was "bad" to join the Sormcloaks), I thought that you would at least lose Breezehome. Good to know. Relativelybest
On a related note: Mistwatch is one of the few dungeons (one of two, I believe) that does not respawn after it is cleared, so it can be used to stash items if you for some reason don't want to buy a house. I considered living there but didn't find it cozy enough. (When playing Fallout 3, I actually prefered to live in the Mechanist's Forge, because I liked it better than the "real" homes and if you get the Mechanist to leave it's all yours. Been looking for a similar "improvised home" in Skyrim but, alas, haven't found one.) Edited June 18, 2012 by Relativelybest

The entire Grey-Mane family is doubly in your debt.1) You saved their boy from the hands of the bloody Thalmor2) You essentially put them into power in Whiterun No way you'd lose Breezehome even if the previous Jarl actually could take it away - the Grey-Manes would just give it back.
