Deletion of old saves

A few simple questions:

 

1. I have almost 3200 saves on my hard drive and that's gobbling up plenty of space. Are saves interdependent or can I delete all but the last 10 saves and still have the game run correctly?

2. If I start a new game will I lose my existing game?

3. If I start a new game is there any way I can import my current character?

Correctly? The amount of saves you have does not affect the stability of the game, so yeah, you can do a bit of tidying up, sure.

No, it'll just add a new one.

There may be a bit of software out there that'll do it for you, but you may have to copy the slider settings down and copy the settings onto your new character.

Only 3200? I have 5973 saves at least! :P

There may be a bit of software out there that'll do it for you, but you may have to copy the slider settings down and copy the settings onto your new character.

Thanks babooncru. Surely slider settings are stored in a file somewhere which I could backup and maybe restore afterwards?
