Hi, everyone. As of late, I have been considering starting a Fallout RP, and I would like to know if anyone is interested. I know for sure that myself and few others would be thrilled to have a Fallout RP, but I don't know how many members there would really be. Please give feedback about whether or not you would like to join. :P

"Moderators" of the thread will be myself and MikeRyan. Seeing as we are not actual moderators, we do not have the power to actually ban people or strike them, but we will contact the moderators or admins if things get out of hand with anyone. The reason there are two of us is simply so that responsibility can be joint instead of having only one person in charge of everyone. We will both enforce rules and approve character sheets.

Now, first thing's first, I have to lay down the rules I have come up with and the reasons behind them, because who wants to join without knowing the rules first? I know I'm a wordy person, but please bear with me and read all of the rules. Order does not imply importance, it is simply the order in which I thought them out.

1. There will be no lone wanderers, couriers, vault dwellers, or chosen ones here, or characters related to them even distantly. Everyone will start from the ground up as inexperienced or average characters unless their past (which must be approved by myself or MikeRyan) specifies otherwise.

2. No OP (overpowered) characters. Period. It takes the fun away from the experiences of others when Grognak the Barbarian jumps in front of the bad guys and slices everyone in half with his giant axe. ;) Remember that none of us are damsels in distress and unless rescue is needed, it only gets others mad.

3. Take your problems with the RP to the thread and do not take said problems out on the characters of others. Remember that this is just an RP and if someone else has a character that is snooty to yours, they are ROLEPLAYING, not making fun of you, etc. In fact, I encourage characters to like or dislike each other, based on their personalities. That being said, anybody who either I or MikeRyan feel is using their character to take out animosity on another person, or if we are informed about something like that, the instigator/instigators will be first warned about their behavior and then asked to ignore their target entirely. If they persist, they will be asked to leave.

4. Be patient, because everyone gets a turn in posting. Back-and-forth fights between two people that go on for pages and pages make the RP seem less interesting to readers and are inconvenient to other RPers. Think how much it would bother you if you were trying to get a post in and other people ended up posting before you did, therefore making your post irrelevant.

5. No OOC (out of character) posts in the RP itself. This means things such as "I'm going to bed, so don't post until I get back, okay?", "Okay, night.", etc. Take those here, to the discussion page. Some of us don't mind OOC posts, but some do mind them, and readers definitely don't like when the RP they're looking at suddenly has people breaking character.

6. Relationships will be allowed, but above all, this is an adventuring RP. Please never post anything explicit, and remember that relationships between people as well as characters blossom over time. This is Fallout, so mention of prostitution is allowed, but it will be highly toned down, once again with nothing explicit. Be respectful of people who just don't want to read stuff like that.

7. I know we are RPing Fallout here, but course language cannot be allowed. Rude characters are allowed, but if you think the filter will get a word, simply do not use it. This is indeed a Mature-rated game, but we have to be considerate of others here and keep things tasteful. Of course we know almost all characters in Fallout have a huge variety of curse words at their disposal, but let's keep it rated PG-13 at its worst.

8. Remember that the RP is a place for everyone to have fun, not just you. Play well with others. In other words, you have to take some opportunities to attack and such and you have to give some away. It is simply more fun that way, and the story develops much more smoothly when we all get a turn. Going along with this, if someone hasn't posted in a while, or if you are the first one to see a new reply, do not jump the gun and post as fast as you can.

9. Never control the character of someone else. You can say that you shot at Vault Boy and where you were aiming, but you cannot say that you shot at Vault Boy and got any part of his body. Let the person who owns Vault Boy decide where he has been wounded. Don't say that you entered a room and you noticed the stares from Vault Boy. Don't make Vault Boy even scoot out of the way when you walk in a room. This is just to keep things fair and also to keep people from getting mad at each other.

10. Let others know when something bothers you in the thread. If there is even a rule you have an issue with, a question, or anything, ask it in the thread and people will answer you, fix the problem, or work it out with you. We want this to be fun for everyone.

Well, I think ten is enough, and I think you are probably bored of reading the rules I'm spewing out. It may seem like a lot to follow, but most of these would be things you would just follow anyway. I have to make them clear, however, for both new people and people who haven't observed one of these rules before.

Now, the fun part! All human races, including ghouls, will be playable. Please be realistic here with weapon choices. Not everyone has a sniper rifle or a fat man, and alien tech is not to be used. No named weapons from the games, please. Weapons will be taken realistically here, in that there is no unlimited ammo and you will have to scavenge for what you get. You do not have to use a set weapon, but you must have a skill set for your character that they mostly stick with, or a job that implies their skill set (i.e., mechanic, scavenger, etc.). Pets are optional, however, we must stick to the lore, therefore no cats are allowed. They are extinct in the Fallout universe as of Fallout 2. A karmic alignment will be required, since it is important in the Fallout Universe.

Your character sheet should be laid out as follows:

-------------------------------------

Name:

Gender:

Age:

Race:

Karmic Alignment:

Appearance:

Clothing/armor:

(Optional) Pet:

Starting Weapon:

Skills/Occupation:

Personality:

History/Background:

-------------------------------------

Okay! My hands are tired after all that. Finally, I want to remind everyone to just have fun and don't be afraid to add a little bit of crazy or quirky to your character!

He got blasted by Radiation when a bomb dropped, and slowly his flesh flaked off. Mike, how's this mine? Only fair to have our sheets get approved, too, I figured. :P

Name: Axelle Edwards

Gender: Female

Age: 15

Race: Caucasian

Karmic Alignment: Very Good

Appearance: Young, but already around 5'10", she isn't lacking strength or power. She has developed a slight hourglass figure, but she often doesn't show it. Her shoulder length hair is dyed cobalt blue and pulled into messy pigtails with eyebrow-length bangs like a child might have. Her thin eyebrows and long lashes are a sandy blonde color, and her eyes are amber-colored. She has a piercing in each eyebrow and three in her bottom lip. She wears silver rings in each of them. Her lightly tanned skin is often very dirty and smudged.

Clothing/Armor: Often wears stained grey coveralls with a black tank top and very worn cutoff jean shorts underneath. She wears tan steel-toed work boots and often has vintage welder goggles on, either used as a headband or like a necklace.

Pet: A Cyberdog created from a male Great Pyrenees, named Spark

Starting Weapon: Crowbar

Skills/Occupation: Mechanic's apprentice

Personality: Focused on winning any fight she's presented with, but cheerful outside battle. She has been known to be very trusting, almost naively so. She tries to talk her way out of things when she thinks she can.

History/Background: Working as a mechanic's apprentice has given her a natural talent for fixing things and figuring out how things work. She lived with her grandfather near Springvale, until Raiders killed him violently in front of her. Being the dumb Raiders that they were, they didn't take into account that she could very well swing a crowbar and knock them out when their backs were turned. She fled to Megaton and is taking up residence in the Common House until she figures out where to go next.

Here is my modified Kira. I took out my custom equipment and her arsenal of weaponry. Oh, and her rather impressive marksmanship and stealth skills. I figured they may make her too OP.

Name: Kira Kikoenai

Gender: Female

Age: 23

Race: Asian

Karmic Alignment: Neutral

Appearance: Kira is a somewhat short girl of asian descent. she's around 5'5", but has the agility to make up for it. Her hair is short and black, usually covering half of her face. Kira's eyes are black as well, and she has a light skin-tone.

Clothing/armor: Almost always wears her oldworld denim shorts and a tight-fitting black tanktop, along with a pair of old worn black leather gloves and combat boots. She wears a worn leather bag on her back to carry various things.

(Optional) Pet: Has a pet dog named Alphonse. He wanders, but always returns to Kira's side eventually.

Starting Weapon: 9mm Pistol (a worn Beretta 92FS INOX specifically, if anyone was wondering.)

Skills/Occupation: Willing to work as a mercenary or bounty hunter. Kira is skilled with sneaking and a touch of lockpicking, not bad with a gun.

Personality: Kira is nice to most people, unless they do something to bother her. In most cases, she's willing to forgive. She has a distaste for the NCR, Caesar's Legion, and most other organized forces.

History/Background: Kira was born and raised a on the west coast. In her later years with her family, she started working with her father, starting a farm for the NCR. Around 17, Kira got fed up working as a farmer only for her hard work to be taken and given to NCR troops. She broke into her father's emergency lockbox and stole several years worth of saved up NCR money, and her father's 9mm pistol, and began her journey to the east to make her own life.
