Starsickle
I'm having trouble getting an NPC to travel or escort the player to a location after the player talks to them. She should travels to an Xmarker inside a cell a long ways away, and while it's set to be used at the stage the quest changes to when you finish talking to her, she does nothing. I've been trying to look for examples of this, but nothing seems to have worked. I will talk to her, get through the dialogue, the next stage of the quest starts. But the package that she's supposed to run doesn't run. Using RESETAI in console shows the debug message I wrote to show the change in package, but she just stands there, and doesn't go to location! The package is running but she's motionless! I'm really stuck on this. Perhaps I should start from scratch. Can anyone give me a good example of an "Escort to point and then talk to me" quest? tetradite
Have you set the cell with the xmarker up as a location? I'm by no means 100% on this as new to quests myself but I think this might be required if the xmarker you are pointing at is not in an exterior cell? Starsickle
Yeah, the location to escort (or when I tried it as sandbox similar to how Delphine's travel to MQ106 kynesgrove goes) is set to an Xmarker in my cell. When I first tried making this - I wanted a scene where she goes up to the PC and talks, but axed it because I had no idea how to start the scene, and the tutorials I were following didn't really help me get it to work. I opted for just regular dialogue, and hoping on change of quest stage the package would run and she would toddle off with the player to the location. I'm not sure how to get this to work. tetradite
I think you may have misunderstood me. I mean have you set the CELL containing the xmarker up as location (http://www.creationkit.com/Location), not whether you have pointed the NPC AI package to the xmarker itself. As I said though I'm by no means sure I'm correct, and your second post establishes to me I am definitely out of my depth here so I'll shut up now :)

Starsickle
Is anyone aware of any similar quests or scenes that I can learn from on this? I tried to use Delphine as an example, but I'm not sure how her scene is started
Starsickle
So, I managed to get her to run the scene that runs the AIpackage, but now she just doesn't move anywhere - even if the package is travel, escort, sandbox at...nothing. She just goes right to the next stage of the quest . http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb157/starsickle/Projects/Escorttest03.png
MrMino
The winterhold quest has the guided tour. Is this part of a scene? I have problems like this with scenes unless I split them up into smaller sequences. Try making a new scene segment just for the part where the NPC escorts you.
