magichris
After playing my save game for around 9 hours my game will not let me move on, it'll crash every time after a few minutes of being in game. I'm not sure exactly what is happening however i think it has to do with my mods or scripts, i don't know where to looks to find the problem. so i mean if anyone has a slight idea of what might be the problem please help. If more information is needed just say what and ill get it.
sopmac45
There could be dozens of causes or perhaps just one. Unfortunately, you need to find out for yourself because even if you post your load order, first of all, not one would be able to download your entire load order in their own PC, play with that load order, find out what the problem is and fix it for you and second, by posting your load order, we may have an idea which mod could be the cause but again, that would be too vague. I do not know what mods you have but before we get into that, have you : - disable all anti-virus ( except Windows Defender ) if you have any other ?- disable all programs/application from your start ( task manager ) so you do not have more programs/applications than you need running in the background ?- tweaked your windows so it is leaning toward performance instead quality ? Check the net, there are several things that you can do to achieve this and it does help. - cleaned the cache files for your game in Steam ?- cleaned all your game master files via FOEdit ?- read all of your mods : description and posts ? - investigated if they are compatible or if you are using two mods that do the same thing ? What kind of rig do you have ? How many mods have you downloaded/installed ? What mod program are you using ? Do you know how to fix certain things via FO4Edit ? Have you followed a reliable load order from other users that are even posted in Nexus ? Have you played with your current load order before ? If so, what mods did you recently add to your known load order ? Have you used the technique to disable all mods and enable one by one, play with only that one and find out if your game is crashing and so on till you found the culprit ? Do you know that if you delete a mod from your existing load order, that would be a mistake that eventually will destroy your game ? Do you know your play style ? Do you have mods installed based on your play style ? Do you know that Fallout 4 engine is a mess and the more mods that you have enabled, the more stress you will put on that engine so you may experience crashes? There are too many things involved that could be the causes of your consistent crashing. Unfortunately, you need to find out for yourself by following certain rules. For example, I do have a mod that is causing CTD in my game, but not that often : War of the Commonwealth ( WOTC ). If you read the mod description, it has been advised by the mod author that this mod will cause CTD's so I know and that is OK with me; as far as my CTD is not every 3 minutes, I am fine. In about 20 hours play time, I have had 2 only and again, I am perfectly ok with that. Read, read and read before you install a mod. Reading is your best friend when modding a game. Unfortunately, not one can do that for you. Ask questions in the mod posts, ask questions directly to the mod author if he/she is not advising if that mod is or not compatible with other mods, etc. The reward will be that you will have a very good idea what mods to install, what would be your best load order and what exactly to expect and have a better stable game, never perfect, but much stable than before. Happy gaming !
