Mason6390
I've been checking out some mods for New Vegas, and i found one that loads your Fallout 3 character as a companion, which is something pretty cool. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37649 Now my question is...is there a mod that does the same, but only for Fallout 3? Like, making your first character as a companion for the second character, and viceversa?
Mktavish
Wish I knew more about how to retrieve that data from a save file. But if you were inclined to try some minimal geck work , in the NPC creation window , which is one of the easier things to do with it. So first with your game loaded you could bring up the menu modes for face generation and hair generation with the console...ShowPlasticSurgeonMenuShowBarberMenu ... and look at the numbers next to all the settings , and write them down. Then go in geck and match those settings on the NPC window / tabs. Unless you had used one of the presets , then they are already there. In hind sight , had you created your character in geck first , flagged it as "Chargen Preset"Then you would already have it. So just something to think about for future character creation. The cool thing I think about getting a little bit familiar with the geck to edit an NPC for this scenario ...Would be that you could make edits to this character as you played your game , to simulate them leveling up with you.But a lot of the perks just simply won't work for an NPC like the author of that mod mentions. So you would just have to get a little creative with facsimiles of them using actor effects. Somebody else might come along with some better info on retrieving save file info.Or even to take your save file , and build an NPC companion mod out of it for you. Also to mention , you could just take one of the vanilla followers , or somebody else's companion mod , then change all the info that would turn them into your character , utilizing all the underlying scripting and dialogue for them.
