Screen with envy

Hi all you guys out there. I am at a stand still. I think I have read more posts about Skyrim problems than actually played the Game. I have tried all the ideas so far. But..... CTD answers don't work - endless loading screens playing Skyrim Musak don't crash - they just fade away.

I have reininstalled, verified data, removed mods, deleted skyrim prefs ect, removed ini's, added code to ini's, added mods, sacrificed small animals to Talos - but no go. Whiterun is a problem I don't seem to be able to fix - this is soooo frustrating. (BTW I have several hundred hours of playing this game under my belt - Until the newest patch I had problems but not like this!)

Please someone whom is clever and capable please help me.

I had endless loads after 1.6 until I realized that 1.6 deleted any lines I added in the prefs ini. If you have a backup of your pref.ini, you might try copy/replace, or try to figure out what is missing. In my case I changed the FOV, and the .ini. files were there but not the pref.ini, causing the game to hang, looking for something that wasn't there.

If you removed any mods that had scripts without going through the author-recommended procedure, your game could have remnants that will not go away. you may need to completely remove all files by the steam uninstall, delete local files, and then manually checking all of your folders to make sure every last file is gone, (including your saves, all the data files etc.). then reinstalling, starting completely over. painful if you have a character you are attached to.
