th3overseer
Midway through what was, up to this point, a fairly stable playthrough, New Vegas has started instantaneously crashing to the desktop when I try to launch it... Most of the time. Sometimes it opens properly and I can play it, but more often than not, it just launches the game for a half-second and then immediately shuts itself down. As far as I can tell, it's totally arbitrary. Nothing I do on my end will ever consistently make it launch or not launch. It's not as if I downloaded something new and then this started. No, it just suddenly started on Saturday, and it's still happening now. I'm using NVSE, NVAC, the latest 4GB thing, and I have higher-res textures for most things. Here's my load order: https://pastebin.com/txqR4s7y
Deleted53139156User
If NVAC isn't showing a script error id to track down, you can remove your saves from their folder and try to see if the game will load up to the main menu if it doesn't you could have a bad reference somewhere in a mod like a nav mesh ref or something in a npc's inventory or a weapon ref on a npc's headpart data etc etc. Anything that would make the game crash because it's handling a reference it's not designed to and crashing on startup. I think FNVedit's error check can find those or merge plugins error check.
dubiousintent
Please see the 'Checklist' and the 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' section of the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" article. When any game starts having problems starting in the middle of a playthrough it's usually the result of a recent change either to the system or an updated mod. -Dubious-
th3overseer
I think there was a system update recently. I'll check that out, thanks.
