[Texture Issue] Cannot get slider on 10mm Pistol model to change texture in NifSkope

As you can see, the main body of the pistol model is using my custom texture, but the slider refuses to change. When I right-click on it and select "Edit UV" the texture the grid overlays is still the default texture, which I imagine is the source of the problem.



As far as I can tell I changed the texture files correctly - scrolled down to the texture sets, clicked the flower icons and changed the texture paths to my new ones, but that specific part of the model won't change (I don't care about the silencer/laser/extra mags parts, I'm leaving those as-is).



Do I need to do something completely different to re-texture the parts of a model that move?

No, there's nothing different about parts that move. You just missed the slide when you applied your retexture.

 

I have retextured the 10mm pistol before to make a rusty version. It's not difficult and there are no tricks involved. The bulk of the pistol is in three main parts, which are called 10MMPistol, Object, and ##Slide. It looks like you only changed the texture on the10MMPistol part, not on Object or ##Slide.

 

There are also a bunch of little bits like the hammer, trigger, etc. which you may or may not care about.

 

Object is the little bit on the bottom. I don't know if you care about that bit or not, but that's what it is.
