Satoshi_Yuki
Im having a trouble every time I attempt to make a Custom race or Mod race into a vampire it their eyes seem to mess up and go all white or something similar. Is there anyway to fix this?
Deleted269910User
The eye textures for most custom races are slightly different from the basic eyes so they'll get f'd up if you transform into a vampire, the only way to fix it is to change the 'vampire eye' texture in the CS and use one of the eye-textures readily available for your race, however, the downside to this is that the eyes of the NPC vampires will be f'd up instead. Currently I don't know of any universal fix for this. :/ IF you want to do the fix, open up your 'custom race'.esp in the CS, open up character-->eyes and then change the base texture of the vampire eye to one of the ones available in the eyes folder of your custom race. After you're done, click ok and save the plugin.
LFact
I suggest you to use vampire race disabler to disable vampire-look feature, if you don't want to messing with races. Unless you make every races(including custom races) use only one type of eye meshes, you won't solve 'vampire eye problem', basically.
Deleted269910User
Thanks for the link, I'll a least myself be using that one, but the real problem with this is something that can't really be solved unfortunately.
Satoshi_Yuki
Thank you for the Tip and the link. But thats not the solution im looking for because I want the Vampiric race appearance(Fangs ,eyes, ect ect.)
Deleted269910User
In that case your only choice is to do what I said earlier on or hope that the makers of the custom races or you yourself change the races in a way that the normal eye textures work. There is no fix for this atm, you could use the race disabler and modify the settings, so you'll otherwise look like a vampire, but your eyes would be exactly like they were before. HouseAtlantic
something like this? http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11687
Deleted269910User
I've seen that, but never really 'struck' me, also the problem is with the eyes of a custom race, not the normal ones, just to clarify that. ;)
HouseAtlantic
well it does what he says it will do and looking at how the race is set up could help I've seen that, but never really 'struck' me i was trying to help with Satoshi's question.. Deleted269910User
I know, but it doesn't offer any kind of solution for custom races, should've phrased myself differently. Anyway, my point was that even though it offers eye textures, they either work with custom races and f'up the normal races, or viceversa. He's looking for a universal fix which currently doesn't exist. To get this to work, could be done with some scripting work of changing how the vampirism works on the player so it doesn't affect the NPC's, to simply put it, have two sets of vampire eye textures, one for NPC's, one for the player, but this again leads to a new problem. The eyes would only work on custom race vampires and not with imperials/bretons etc. which leads to player having to choose which race(s) does he want to play as a vampire. custom races and normal vanilla races use totally different eye textures and aren't compatible with the textures of eachother. Anyway, this isn't a place to argue/whatever, we're here to help the guy. I hope this pretty much clears all the possible questions about it. >_< What we need is a solution that doesn't exist at this moment, unless someone has a mod that changes how the eyes work on custom races, just enabling them does nothing else but look ugly. Now, we could simply go and ask for someone to make a universal fix for this or simply ask the authors of their respective race mods to make the races compatible with all eye sets. P.S. I did use the 'struck me' sentence for the reason that he is not the onlyone who has this problem, everyone who has custom races does and I simply don't see that mod as a viable solution since it doesn't fix the real issue at hand. I myself used a temporary solution and changed the normal eye textures to that of a custom race and f'ed up the normal race vampires.
