Can't ride my Horse/e

Hello everyone

 

i hope someone can help me.

i can't ride ANY of my horses. the E button won't work, no matter how often i press it. i tried the console command "disable" and "enable", the horse disappeared and appeared again, nothing. i tried "setownership" but it didn't work either..

i spawned a strange horse with a console command i found somewhere (kind of a sadowmere, but not black, the grey color of the horse i wanted to ride with red eyes Oo) that i was able to ride on. But when i get in trouble and it gets accidently hit by an fire ball or stuff like that, it keeps on attacking me. so it's of no use.

 

has anyone any idea how i can fix this problem or what i can do about this? i travel a lot by horse, so it makes the game way worse -.-"

Is it possible you remapped your activate button?

Otherwise, it is probably related to a mod you have downloaded or uninstalled recently.

Can you remember what changed just before this became a problem? (If the answer is the 1.6 patch then your work is cut out for you.... :unsure:)

 

IF you post your mods someone might notice something that could help you. Otherwise, you can try first going back to all the mods websites and read the readmes again, to see if it is a known issue with any and maybe find a fix.

If that doesn't work, you could uninstall your mods exactly according to the mod author's instructions and then play to see if that solves the problem. If you have a lot of mods and don't want to uninstall all of them, you can try uninstalling the most likely suspects one at a time (for example, horse mods, other mods with scripts)...although sometimes it is the most unlikely mod that is involved.....

Be sure to look back at mods you uninstalled or otherwise changed just before the problem started, since incorrect uninstallation or updating can cause a lot of problems.

hmm i think it's a mod, too.

another thing is that 3 days before the problem first occurred, i de- and reinstalled the game completely. i downloaded all mods i need again and installed them one after another. the problem because i deinstalled the game was, that my character sometimes began to "stand" on the horse, instead if sitting (looks sh*tty), so i decided to install the game new (i think it had something to do with the "better horses" mod, after installing this mod the problem appeared and when i deinstalled it i couldn't sit on my horse just like at the moment, but the mod isn't installed now..)

 

maybe it's better when i install the game again. i'll also post my mods i'm going to install, maybe someone will recognize the "problem" before i install them again :)

and i got some mods from the workshop on steam, but i don't think it's because of these..

i downloaded the extra HD-pack from steam

 

i know i have a lot of mods that overwrite other mods when i install them. sometimes i download a lot of mods an install just one and when i don't like the one anymore, i isntall another ;)

 

all of the mods were installed before, so i never had problems with them.. until now :(

Well, if you uninstalled any of the horse mods incorrectly, that could be the cause of your problem. I'd go read the readmes of all of your horse mods carefully and see if there is anything there to help. Also the discussion thread of those mods could help.

 

When you did your complete uninstall, did you delete local content and manually remove all skyrim files that remain after the steam uninstall?

had the same problem, thats the mod i had installed and i just uinstalled it when i didnt want it anymore, but you have to write ''StopQuest CH'' in the console before uinstalling it.

So install the mod again go to console and write ''StopQuest CH'' and make a new save and remove the mod.

This problem happened to me too. It was after downloading a mod that allows me to use magic when I ride horses.

 

The only way I could fix it was to kill the horse via console command.

Give myself 1000 gold by typing player.additem f 1000

Then buy a new horse. Since it was a glitch I thought it was ok to get a free horse.

 

Nothing else would work. I also Uninstalled the mod per the Uninstall instructions. I guess I can live without mounted magic abilities.

I DIDN HAVE CONVENIENT HORSES MOD BUT SAME PROBLEM HERE....i was trying horseman, and mounted combat for all-so now also cant realise whats goin on lol

In my case, it only happened after Lydia climbed onto my horse after I had climbed onto a different horse.

If you ride another horse, and a companion rides YOUR horse, then it breaks it.

At least that's my best guess after checking my spam saves before and after riding the second horse.

So that seems like it's the problem.

Answer: Don't ride any horses other than your own, and save before riding a horse.

Me its that i put in this command that unlocks all the spells automatically and since then, i can’t ride any horse. My guess is the command glitched my game... does anyone know how to fix that?

Had the same problem just now after ripping out Immersive Horses.

 

I couldn't click on a horse to ride it after buying it. So I used the console command to kill it. Then did other things in the game until a new horse was spawned and was available for sale.

 

I bought the next horse and was able to click on it to ride it.
