Werne
It seems something is wrong with the forums, especially My Content and Watched Topics. Anyway, to explain what's going on. Old topics started popping up in My Content saying that there's a new reply to them but the last reply is from December 2011, even the ones in which I was the last poster. Watched topics show up saying there's a new reply but no one posted in them for over 6 months. And when I read them, they pop up again after a few hours. The same goes for when I'm browsing the forums, most topics I've read have absolutely no new posts but they still show up as if I haven't read them. I mostly use the forums so it's a bit annoying to read through 2 pages of threads in my content to read the one that really does have new posts in it. EDIT: I'd also like to add that this thread is not included in My Content, even though I started it. Edited June 23, 2012 by Werne
SariDecember
Same here, glad to hear that I'm not the only one! ;) I also scoured the site news and changelogs and couldn't find anything about that matter!? o_O
HeyYou
There was another thread on this topic the other day when I was here.... but, can't seem to come up with it now..... I have also started to see this problem in various forums. Showing topics as unread that I was the last poster in.... also topics that I have read, and posted in, showing as completely unread, such that when I click the button for "first unread post", it takes me to the first page of the thread....... Real curious what that's all about. Cookies are enabled, I only surf the forums from this machine.....
Deleted2547005User
I had a power outage during a storm last week, which killed my computer in the most spectacular fashion. I thought that having to restore the harddrive had caused this issue since my cookies were deleted, but today I returned to the Forums only see that the problem persisted - everything had been reset when I logged out. Then I saw this thread, which as eased my mind, but leaves a greater question: What in the world has happened to the Nexus?
Werne
I also figured out that it takes 30 minutes for a thread I replied to, to appear in My Content. Or 16 hours when it comes to this particular one.
buddah
It might be related to this issue: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/708498-forum-issues/
Deleted2547005User
It might be related to this issue: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/708498-forum-issues/ Ahhh. Now it makes sense. By default, my Firefox deletes cookies when I close the browser. Fixing the issue now. EDIT: No joy. It worked until I closed Firefox, and it was told to keep all cookies until they expire. Will do some more checks and report back if I can.
Werne
It might be related to this issue: http://forums.nexusm...8-forum-issues/Erm, sorry to spam the forum with this thread, I really didn't see that one. Ahhh. Now it makes sense. By default, my Firefox deletes cookies when I close the browser. Fixing the issue now. EDIT: No joy. It worked until I closed Firefox, and it was told to keep all cookies until they expire. Will do some more checks and report back if I can.Cookies have nothing to do with that. I believe the site remembers which threads you've read. If I log in on another computer, I'll see the threads with no new replies as read (that's when the site isn't acting like it's acting now). HeyYou
Dark0ne changed a setting on his end, and the site does indeed now use cookies on your local machine to track read/unread threads. Trouble is, it doesn't seem to work worth a damn.
Werne
it doesn't seem to work worth a damn.True that. The threads I've read reset after a few hours saying that I haven't read them, it takes around 30 minutes for the site to realize I've posted in a thread in order to place it in My Content, it also takes a long time to show that someone posted in a thread when it's in My Content. It just doesn't work right.
