Calamachus Posted June 24, 2012 Share Posted June 24, 2012 So after who knows how many playthroughs I started using the Live Another Life alternate start mod. Awesome idea by the way, all due props to its creator. One thing that came of it was my getting to Whiterun before I'd ever been to Riverwood. For the first time I got the quest to get the Dragonstone of Bleak Falls Barrow from Farengar before I'd ever actually gotten it. Before I always pick up it as my 'getting warmed up and geared' adventuring before I get to Whiterun. Amazingly, when I came back to Whiterun to deliver it, who do I find there? Delphine. She's there, with Farengar, discussing dragons and all manner of cool plot stuff. A surprising amount of content that I'd never seen in like the previous 20 characters. It was a complete shock. Anyone else find any interesting niches of stuff on a completely different playthrough? Unexpected plot twists and characters? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

On my second play I actually didn't start running in the opposite direction from him the moment he said that. (Which, in my defense, is what splitting up traditionally means.) I was surprised that he actually kept talking and explaining things. He even showed me the Thief, Warrior and Mage stones. You know, the ones that are right outside Riverwood. Understand, in my first session I was roughtly level 50 by the time I found them. I'd simply never walked in that direction. Except I didn't do it like that at all. I blundered into Riverwood while trying to get to Bleak Falls Barrow while beelining from Helgen, didn't talk to Ralof's family (until waaay later) and I'm pretty sure I only reached Whiterun after walking around blindly because I hadn't gotten a good understanding of the terrain and never bothered to listen to any directions. (Oh, and it was only during my second play I realized one could take carriages to the capitals. I had literally travelled everywhere by foot in my first session.) I sorta did it all wrong the first time, is what I'm trying to say. Kinda like how you never noticed Delphine talking to Farengar because you always had the Dragon Stone the first time you met him. Man, he gives me the creeps.....after I finish the Imperial quest for the war, I find him in Whiterun following me around REAL close, sword drawn, and saying quirky things...like he is looking for a same sex marriage or something Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BrettM Posted June 25, 2012 Share Posted June 25, 2012 I think my biggest surprise came with a character who ran straight off to join the Stormcloaks and didn't do "Dragon Rising" until forced into it. After the Graybeards summoned me, Ulfric had a lot of interesting dialog about his Voice training as a boy and his take on the Way of the Voice. With one character I went to Skyhaven Temple right after "Alduin's Bane", getting the demand to kill Paarthurnax before heading to Whiterun instead of after the conference. I told Arngeir beforehand that I wasn't going to do it, and he really threw the information in Delphine's face when she showed up at the conference. The fix for it is to walk up real close to him, save the game, exit it to desktop, then restart the game. Hadvar will sheath his sword and walk off to the Sleeping Giant Inn. So i discoverd the first word and after what i get post from a friend with new places to find words.One time i go to the greybeard with all words i can found. CDT. yeah.... After loading : Nice dialog with Arngeir. But no Dragonsouls only the first word. (ever the same in Wihtrun you get). The dragon ?? (dont no the english word) Where the Dragon´s head on the map are. Discover it befor going to Riverwood or Withrun. ( i don´t tell you more). Potema the second quest, i aviod the messenger from XY vogt from Solitude, 30 day´s later s... he catch me. ok i go and nothing change damm no City of Undead. I still hope Elisf become a Vampir or something, and potema sit on the Throne.Nothing..... Or rifton i go throw the Black ?? destille into the city.... works good. But Brynjolf talks blabla... ever the same, but when you don´t talk to Mauler the Harbor is empty no one is where. And why are there Ships the lake isn´t so deep, and the bridges not High enough.???? fishing ??? Or i break in the house from marven, this is cool i steel 5 Dibella statuen everytime there is a new one LOL.... Or one time i clean the upper floor I take all 2 later all the suff are back.
