Kaarvani
Gretting everybody, I experience since yesterday a very brutal framerate drop when playing New Vegas. FRAPS indicates that my framerate falls between 5 and 15 (usually 60). The problem was not here yesterday as I played.I tried to disable my mods, start a new game, try in with low quality, start it with Steam or NMM, shut down non-vital applications, to no avail. The task manager indicates that FNV uses 700000 kb of processing power and doesn't go higher (usually, it uses something like 1,1 million kb even without FNV 4GB, which I don't use). Is the problem coming from my computer of from my game? You'll find below a little "technical sheet" of the game. Thanks for your time!!! Deleted2547005User
If you haven't already tried, delete your ini files for New Vegas. Then start the game so it'll write new ones. Sometimes mindless data gets changed for no reason in the ini files, which will cause among other problems drastic and crippling FPS drops. Kaarvani
Just tried to erase the .ini files in the "fallout new vegas" folder : same thing :/ I'm running a cache integrity check now just in case.EDIT : framerate still at 10-15 after a cache check. Deleted2547005User
No, those are the ones that the games uses to create ini files. Delete the ones in your (User)/Document/My Games/FalloutNV. Both the FalloutNV.ini and FalloutPrefs.ini.
Kaarvani
Thanks for the hint, I didn't knew there were .ini files in this folder too. After deleting the two files you mentionned and trying a new game (I erased all my saves in doubt), my framerate has not evolved. I tried to erase the whole fil in "My Games" as well as the folder in C:\Games (the one used by NMM) : no change.
JacobBruce
Try disabling any mod which adds a depth of field effect to the game (or just disable the depth of field effect option if possible). I had a similar problem and in my case it was the Project Reality mod causing the low frame rate. If you have Project Reality and the Mod Menu thing, untick the "Subtle Depth of Field" option under the FX sub-menu.
