thomasv333
Sometimes I get a grey screen. If I change my look angle it goes away, if I move it goes away. It seems to be when I face a certain direction, in a certain spot I get it. Though it is not permament, and doesn't seem to actually interfere with gameplay, it is only nuisance. But a big one. And it seems to be happening more often as of late. I am using FCOM, plus a few more mods, and am bashing them together. If a list of my mods will help I will provide it, but I am only using beatiful people graphics. Thanks for any help offered. Edit - Oh, and since I am here lookinf for help anyway, every time I exit oblivion windows pops up with "ths program has stopped working" does not seem to actually affect anything so likely not a big deal, but is anoying. As this was happening long before the gray screen I am almost certain they are unrelated. I have the exact same problem with a very simmilar setup full FCOM with about 200 other mods running. The only time I have ever seen this bug is in castle Kvatch when it is destroyed and full of fire. I felt that it had to do with all the fire effects in the rooms and the HDR lighting, but it hasn't bothered me since so I haven't looked into a fix.....until now. What is your video card? I am running a Nvidia GeForce 8800gtx and found a good configuration of video hardware settings that and reduced my CTDs by 90%. Perhaps a similar trouble shooting technique will work for the "Grey screen bug". Basicly what I did is set my hardware settings to default then changed every thing that had a better performance option to that option one at a time. Below is my current hardware settings profile. Good Luck
Duthos1
I will try to match your specs, and see if it helps. My card is an nvidia 8800gt (wanna trade?) so it may be similar. I have noticed that besides this glitch not showing up in third person, it happens far more in barren places, such as midas astral plane, never outside, never when my character is generating light effects, and switching to a backup save simply changes where the zones are. Thanks Thomas. If that don't work I will simple add 1 light radius to something I always use the toolset, or carry around a torch.
MrCooper2006
I think this is similar to NVidia Black Screen Bug Iv had a few times, only for a split second, and at completely random times and places, its never lasted long enough for me to find a fix. From what i can remember it seemed to be in Interior cells. Think its just another missed bug ? Or maybe Cyrodiil just has extremely dense, but short lasting patches of Fog. Have a Nvidia GTX280 btw

Duthos1
After opening the contruction set for the firs time ever, I came to the brutal realization my knowledge of this game is far insufficient to affect the small change I wished. Possibly due in large part to not knowing which of my mods to make the change I want in, or how to do it. Anyway, is there an easy way to add 1 light radius to a character, or all pc races, to bypass/address this glitch. I looked at all the options under the races tabs, and couldn't find anything that looked promising. And since torches give a light radius of 700 something, I think this will be pretty much invisible in the game.
Lostcolony2
This is an old thread, but, I just ran into this -exact- problem. I fixed it by clearing out everything below 'iPresentInterval=1' in the display options of my oblivion.ini file (note that this is the per user file, not the default one located in the install directory. It also may persist through an uninstall), and disabling Streamline. I'll be adding Streamline back in to see if it occurs again (if it caused the bad ini changes, or if some other mod or occurrence did), but I'm posting this here in case anyone else encounters this issue.
