SignedName
So I wanted to add spiders into my game, using the Spider Modder's Resource, but those spiders make loud metal clanking sounds if they're moved after dying. Is there any remedy for this, so that they make squishy noises instead?
KiCHo666
Using nifskope, change the material of collision bodies to "SKIN".
SignedName
Using nifskope, change the material of collision bodies to "SKIN".By collision bodies do you mean collision object? I can't seem to find any option to change to "SKIN" there.
dubiousintent
No, he means the "material". Please see the 'Collision' section of the wiki "Getting started creating mods using GECK" article. -Dubious-

The "material" section under bhkConvexVerticesShape is set to "Organic". Why would it make a metallic sound then?
dubiousintent
Might as well ask "why is the GECK so buggy?" (Because they didn't spend a lot of time on things.) Only a third of the predefined HAV_MAT sounds are normally used, and the names are not always intuitive. Also remember there are two parts to a "collision": the impacting object and the surface it collides with. Either examine something producing the sound you want for the HAV_MAT they used, or experiment. 'Fraid I can't help you any further in that regard. I just collect information. Don't use most of it myself. -Dubious-
SignedName
Okay, I found the problem: it was the skeleton, not the gore parts, that was the issue. For some reason, it was set to HAV_MAT_VEHICLE_PART_HOLLOW. It was annoying to rename all the stuff, but the clanking is gone, thankfully.
dubiousintent
Congrats. Thanks for reporting on that. I've add a reminder that the armature can have it's own HAV_MAT to the "Collision" section as a result. My guess would be the original mod creator didn't even think about that. -Dubious-
