FWE Help

Recommended Posts

Having trouble getting FWE working and need some help. The first time I got most of everything installed and running (I'm using all the mods listed in the recommended load order except Followers and Weather mods IE WMK, Project Beauty, EVE, and MMM) but when I go to make a merged patch, it get's all the way through making the patch and shows it on FO3Edit, but wont show up on FOMM. The second time I tried I decided to add in FOOK2 as well but cant seem to get FOOK2 to have any files showing up on FOMM even though I install it manually since FOMM doesn't like FOOK2 for auto installing.

I suggest that you get the FO3Edit Training Manual http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/8629 and follow along with it while you are using FO3Edit. After making your merged patch and you exit FO3Edit, you should get a prompt to save your work. This will save the merged patch and it should then show up in FOMM, listed at the bottom of your load order. Also, FOOK2 and FWE will not work together. You should choose one or the other.

While I didn't have the training manual, I did have a step by step guide from http://www.fookunity.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-2058.html It was just after saving and exiting FO3Edit and reloading FOMM the patch didn't show up there, even though I could reload FO3Edit and see the merged patch on there. As for FOOK2 and FWE now I'll have to think about which I'd rather use though I'm leaning towards FWE since I can install it much easier through FOMM.

Edit: On a side note does Fallout 3 Redesigned (AKA Project Beauty) still work with FWE with the FOIP patch? Just wondering since the FOIP file says Project Beauty and hadn't been updated to the Redesigned name.

Edit2: In the same vain, is FO3Redesigned suppose to show up on the FOMM load order screen? Just looked and I dont see the file anywhere on there.

Edit3: Another interesting tidbit, why is FWE activating the Restore Tracers and Alternate Travel even though I specifically chose not to install them?

Edit4: Sigh, noticing so many things this time around. In the recommended load order on the FWE page, there is no mention of where to put the EVE.esm file, just the esp file, where should it go? Up near the top with all of the other esms?

I reply to edit4, all .esm must load at the top of your load order, with Fallout 3.esm first, followed by the dlc .esm (unless you are using streetlights). Translated, .esm is elder scrolls master and .esp is elder scrolls plugin.

Alright thanks for that, gonna try to make the merged patch again, hopefully it works this time.

Edit: Okay ran into one of the expected problems from Edit 2, I'm getting an error because FO3Edit couldn't find Project Beauty.esm.

Edit2: Alright apparently I wasnt suppose to use FOMM to install FO3 Redesigned so I'm gonna re-download the file, manually install it, and hope it works this time.

Well seems this time the installed worked. Going through the opening as we speak so hopefully I wont have any more troubles.

Edit: After spending some time checking out the histories to see what they start with, it turns out the meshes for almost all the raiders and at least 1 slaver isn't working.
