g0kur
Hello, so I have made a new head mesh for new vegas. However, when I apply the custom made normal map, these shiny lines occur. I have tried reducing the opacity of normal map but nothing seems to work. Any ideas on how to get rid of the shiny lines? Edit: This seems like a mesh issue, the shiny lines kinda follows the triangles in a weird manner. No idea how to fix it. g0kur
Here is it. It is also noted that the shiny lines kinda follows the triangles of the mesh in weird pattern, that I labelled in red. Deleted1205226User
Material is OK. This is strange. In the third texture slot, there's a EnvCube map, see if the lines disappear if you remove it. By the way, the present texture path will allow this mesh to show up only on your computer. If you want to share it you have to set the texture path relative, that means it should start with: textures\Remove everything before that. To see if it's mesh related, I suggest to make a copy of your nif for a test : select the NiTriStrips, right click and select "Face Normal" then "Smooth Normals"If the things disappear, then it's mesh related and is probably due to export settings from your 3D app.If not, then I'm clueless... KiCHo666
Hm, try using this:https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/64746It helped me a lot with shiny lines appearing on exported models.
g0kur
I fixed it by selecting "update tangent space". I am very lucky because if you had not suggest me to select "face normal" and "smooth normal" I won't ever try to click "update tangent space" which fixed the problem! Thank you very much. Edit: The nif tangent and binormal updater might work. However I updated the tangents just by using nifskope and it just works. Deleted1205226User
Good. The tool linked by Kicho does that in a better way than NifSkope and can do batch files.
