Strange Startup Crash

I've been having a weird startup crash. I open Skyrim Special Edition and it comes up with the small window with the "play" button. I click it, but then Skyrim does not load. This has only recently started happening. I started having this problem after I mistakenly downloaded a new update (I am using SKSE64, so this is a problem). I decided to just reinstall the game, rather than trying to revert it back to a previous version. However, I loaded up Skyrim and none of my mods were there. I went onto the Nexus launcher, and figured out that I just needed to disable and then enable them all. I did this, and then started having this issue. I have attached a picture of my load order. I have tried many things, but nothing seems to work. It may be a simple problem, like I have the wrong SKSE64 or something (since Steam doesn't say the actual version number of the Skyrim update). However, this error is with the vanilla launcher, and repeats itself even if I get rid of SKSE64, uninstall Skyrim, and disable-enable my mods. The startup for SKSE64 doesn't even get to the small window, it just immediately crashes. I am using the Nexus launcher, not the Vortex one as I haven't bothered to move my mods yet. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Skyrim more times than I can count, each time trying something different. This is extremely frustrating and I would appreciate some help. Thank you!

First, there is no reason to uninstall and reinstall SSE. Just verify your game cache through Steam, which will reset the main game files without touching your mods. If you've made edits to your Skyrim config files, then make copies of them and put them somewhere safe. SKSE64 should be updated to run with the most recent version of SSE, unless there's been a game update in the last couple of weeks.

It is possible that your save is corrupted. Try using Load and choosing an earlier save. See if that loads. If it does, then the problem is in your save, not your mods. Also, make sure that you have not cleaned a file which shouldn't be cleaned. Not all mods need to be cleaned. Most experienced mod authors clean their mods before uploading. Personally, I'd also refrain from cleaning the game masters, as I find that unnecessary. SKSE64 does not usually cause loading issues, because it only affects the game when a mod calls on its extended features. Otherwise, it just sits there patiently and waits.

I hope you get things sorted out. :)
