Ok so I'm no specialist with computers and files and so on, I just installed Vortex and re downloaded my mods.... and my textures and such are extremely messed up. I need help with setting everything and doing it right, I have no clue what I'm doing. Can anyone possibly help me? Hell if I can I could allow you to do a screen share thing if I can so you can help me out and show me personally how fix it all.

Did you resolve the lose file conflicts? I.e. are there any red flash icons in the list of mods? If so, you've got to resolve them by clicking on them.

See the very helpful document about conflicts in the Vortex wiki: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Managing_File_Conflicts

Or watch the (slightly outdated, but still very helpful) tutorial videos:

That's what I'm trying to figure out and fix, I have so many of those that I don't know what I'm doing or how to properly organize them. And I continue to get cycles

That's the problem if you install too many mods all at once.

In NMM you'd have to decide for each mod as you install it whether you want to overwrite existing files. How had you usually answered that dialog? "Overwrite all" each time?

My tip for a similar approach in Vortex:

First disable ALL mods in Vortex (only disable, not remove!)

Think about which is a "base" texture mod (probably one of the complete texture overhaul mods like SMIM, Skyland or Skyrim 2017 Textures - in case we're talking about Skyrim here).

Start with that mod and activate it.

Then look for a mod which should overwrite certain aspects of those basic mods. Activate it. If you have a conflict, go to the mod you just activated and click the red flash. Select "Load after" for all listed conflicts. That's the equivalent of selecting "Overwrite all" in NMM when installing a mod.

I'd recommend to always work with "Load after" (I hardly ever use "Load before"), that way it's easier to avoid cyclic rules (i.e. rules that contradict each other).

You have to do that once for each conflict. Please note that if you see a white square with an "i" on the right of a line in the conflict dialog, there's already a rule in place on the other mod, you don't have to (and should not) set another rule for that conflict.

Ok so I have a lot of outfit mods that rely on the cbb bodyslide and looksmenu mod for fallout 4, those are really what I'm having issues with as well as some cbb add ons, what should I activate fist to start all of this off? I've disabled everything I have.

Start with CBB. Then activate one mod mod after the other. Resolve all new conflicts right away after you've activated each mod. Make sure that you activate the mods last, which are the most "dearest" to you.

If you ever want to see the outcome when another mod takes precedence, you always change the rule(s) later, too. That's the nicety of Vortex.

Please read this to understand the concept of overwriting textures and models: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Managing_File_Conflicts

That's really important to understand.

Ok so I got a few without issue but I'm getting cycle thing again and I don't know how to properly clear some of them without effing up my system again. I'll see if I can paste a photo of what I see and see if you can help me if I can't then I'll list them now. So I have girly animations, Valkyr Body Textures, Caliente' Beautiful Body Enhancer, TBA Alice Wet skin, and Atomic Beauty all making a cycle what do I do and how should it be resolved to fix.

did you have created any rules before you started the procedure I told you?

To resolve cyclic rules, disable the mods mentioned in the error message (save the base one, CBB in your case).

Then activate one. Check it's rules. Make sure that there are ONLY "load after" rules.

If after activating a mod, the cyclic error comes up again, you most certainly have an old rule (of a previous attempt), look through the mods listed and clear all the rules. Then think about a clear order of mods like A > B > C and set the rules accordingly ( > stands for "load after" ).

What must not happen is that you define

A > B

B > C

and

C > A

That'll be a cyclic rule and what's giving you the trouble.

Finally everything got sorted out and I figured out the cycle issue. Thank you so much for the help
