shadowstart220
Im here today to ask for some help regarding my load issues. ill be honest and say that im by no means a pro at this even tho iv seen everywere that its an easy thing to handle yet i cant seem to get things to work. Now iv installed the TESmodmanager NMM and BOSS. and iv taken a look at the mod conflict feature in TESMM. But I realy dont understand what its trying to tell me is the problem. Iv also read in places that the BOSS program isnt doing what its supposed to be doing, and that later updates to NMM have also taken away from the load ordering situation. That aside, what can you guys tell me about how to get my load ordering to start rolling. As far as the mods go, i just last night started all over again and narrowed my current list to 67 mods. Now i do also relalize that the more mods one has the more complex the build a particual game can get in regards to conflicts and CTDs. I will paste my current list that i have in the hopes that my only real issue is infact just my load order and all i need to do is place some mods in the right area. One other note. in regards to the mod "type" ill call it. im not sure if i should put liked mods together or if its more of a this needs to be first then this and this and so one (exp. weapons mods or visual enhancments mods ENBs for example) so here is my list. i look forward to your feedback and thank you in advance. fleabittendog
I picked other because I use NMM, BOSS, and Wrye Bash. I use NMM for installing and uninstalling and for checking my current mod version against the most recent. I use BOSS to create my load order. I use Wrye Bash for the merged patch which reduces conflicts with leveled lists. Also I can use Wrye Bash to compare saves if I remove or add a mod. If I want to adjust my load order I can use either NMM or Wrye Bash but I prefer the latter as I have to rebuild my patch every time I change my load order. BOSS seems to work pretty well at creating a workable load order but I do shuffle some mods around. For instance, Realistic Lighting is always placed close to the top by BOSS but the mod author claims that it should be placed near the end. shadowstart220
oki so then how do i find out (likely thro the modders site im betting?) what mods need to go where on the list?
fleabittendog
Since many mod authors seem to want their mods close to the bottom of the load order I would go with the BOSS list unless I noticed problems and then I would try moving mods one at a time to see if anything improves. It's mostly trial and error but you should always pay attention to a mod's readme for special instructions.
shadowstart220
Thats good to know. I do note a lot of the time the authors dont put load order specifications in there discrptions. I see off compatibiliy notes. I will give that a try. atm my game is broken. so ill start there :). thanks
shadowstart220
so is it safe to assume that when reodering mod. i should try to keep them near the bottom, make sure they dont do the same thing anotehr mod is, keep liked mods with liked mods so to speek. but load things like hari mods and face mods before lets say,,,,, a custom race mod? just trying to get a deeper understanding of just how this works. oh and what are peopels thoughts on steam running mods and such. ?
