rockygohard18 Posted June 27, 2012 Share Posted June 27, 2012 I was wondering is it possible for Server thunderstorm weather pattern we have sandstorms and rain in a few mods(Nskies and Project reality)..or possible tornado(especially for lonesome roadth).I'm from Miami FL so I've delt with a lot a bad weather(hurricane Andrew being the worst I've been in)I think it would add a lot of immersion to the world.Also it could add rain effects to your mask if you're using PN so like the Hard rain is beating against your mask or if your luck is bad enough and you're using wild wasteland you can get struck by lighting.Just an idea give me some insight people. senterpat Posted June 28, 2012 Share Posted June 28, 2012 I disagree about it being immersive, as the desert doesn't see many tornadoes, thunder storms, or hurricanes. What does occur in the desert however is... Sandstorms and... rain. I will concede that the Mojave has a chance of thunderstorms around September, but as the game starts in October most people will never see it. adman85 Posted June 28, 2012 Share Posted June 28, 2012 You see, the problem here is that for some reason adding any kind of weather to fallout (especially good looking stuff like lightning/sand storms) causes at least my PC to chug more that any other kind of mod around, (not to mention that both Nskies and project nevada have some pretty big issues that can be really immersion breaking and/or frustrating. It would be great to see "light" versions of weather mods, that didn't rely on top quality textures and BS crazy shaders etc. As personally the vanilla weather is just... Sadly, as boring as a dead horse. The biggest shock for me was playing Stalker COP recently and seeing how much they were able to achieve with less of a hit to my system (environment, shadow and lighting wise). I just want more than the vanilla weather without killing my game, but it seems like that isn't going to happen. I gave up on the idea and recently changed the weather to a simple one cycle system that I actually enjoy seeing, but that really is just swapping out one level of boring for another as there are no real changes in the weather (other than day to night etc).
