billyro
This is a Mac problem... I've almost teared all my hair out today. My head lies in pain and bare of some hair because DAO seems to enjoy making me frustrated. The problem is that nearly every 5 minutes, it will crash with an error message saying "Exception Raised: 54893579483279547329574982398759423........." or something (note: not actual numbers) and asks me if I want to debug it. Duh, I click yes. Crash. Restart the game, same problem 5 mins later. This time I click no. Crash. RIP HAIR OUT HERE. I don't know why it is doing this. I've tried disabling all my mods, no avail. I've tried tweaking my computer, nothing. Disk check, yes, there was a problem there, I repaired it and tried the game again, same problem. Made sure everything besides DA is not running, no change. What really bugs me, is I don't think it is something to do with my mac's graphics. I can run the game at 1440x900 (full resolution) with Graphic Detail at Very High, Textures on High, and Anti-aliasing on x2 with a smooth 60fps. Now, since this problem has started, I've noticed no performance decrease whatsoever. It's almost like it runs perfectly, then just spits the dummy. I have put the settings down, but the only difference is the game looks uglier. I still get the crashes and it makes me angry. Another thing I tried, was check the Activity Monitor to see if there were any occasional spikes in my mac's performance. There are a few spikes, and I'm not sure if this is the problem for the crashing, since the spikes occur about every 20 seconds, as opposed the DA's 5 minute crashes. They don't line up. I have Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition (bought from GameTree Mac) with all DLC installed as well as Awakening. I've already beaten Origins with a single play through, and it was perfect. All of a sudden I can't play for 5 minutes without tearing even more of my hair out. Please help me before I turn bald. These are my Mac Specs...-Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7-Memory: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3-Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB-Software: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53) Edited June 27, 2012 by billyro
Thandal
Whoa! Almost missed the "These are my Mac specs..." part. :whistling: All the things I was going to suggest don't apply, (or I don't know how to make them apply.) :pinch: Have you tried and an un-/re-install? billyro
Sorry about that. When I was typing it up I was thinking I should make the Mac part more obvious... Anyway, no, I haven't tried to reinstall the game. (I actually have no idea how to do that, but I'll check it out.)I'll see if I can. EDIT: I don't think I can reinstall the game. There are no options for it... Plus, it was downloaded from GameTree Mac, so I can't do a disk install to make it work. Plus, the game is so big and I don't want to download a huge file again. I'll try something different. I'm going to remove all mods completely instead of just disabling the .dazips and see if that turns up anything.
