Boethiah Quest problems

Im working on the quest where you have to kill someone at the shirine of Boethiah but i cant get a talk option to talk someone into coming with me so i can kill them. is this supposed to happen, like im supposed to get someone specific or is something wrong?

@ninjachicken17, i never completed that quest because it disgusts me as rpg gameplay.

the way quest 'Boethiah's Calling' works is you're supposed to bring a non-essential follower to the shrine; then,

use the follower dialog to command them to use the pillar, you can figure out the rest..

If the follower is flagged with essential status, the pillar will not be 'triggered'.

To check if an NPC is essential, launch console and use your mouse to select them until the Ref ID appears, enter IsEssential

- if the console returns "1.00", the NPC is essential.

I couldn't find anyone in the game that wanted to follow me that I thought deserved that fate so I just never completed that quest. Now if a mod can make some npc into followers well, then this quest is worth doing because some normally non follower npc DESERVE this fate lol.
