Shadow Bug - Cannot identify

Okay, I haven't played Skyrim in a while but since Dawnguard is coming out in a month, I decided to start up a new game. Of course, I got hit with this crap:

If anyone can help me understand WHAT is going on, and how to fix it, I'd be grateful. I know it's a shadow bug of some kind because this only happens when there is supposed to be a shadow (it's worse outside. Flickering shadows everywhere). At the moment, I think it might have been the recent patch since I'm running with an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT from AMD and I've heard people are getting screwed with, but that's all I know.

It looks like a graphics card issue. I don't know Radeon cards or their particular issues with this patch, but you might try either updating or rolling back your drivers.

Also, the patch overwrites potions of your skyrim graphics and pref.ini, so if you haven't already, you might try going through and checking the skyrim graphics options (for example my FXAA got toggled on for me), then your driver control settings and your pref.ini files to make sure they are they way you want them, both any changes you had made but also lines you had added or deleted. If you have a saved backup pref.ini file, though, you may not want to just copy/paste it because 1.6 added some lines, to, and I'm not sure how deleting them might affect your situation.

Hope this helps!
