letterbomb815
Now that I'm out on summer, I've spent hours on Skyrim Modding every aspect it, and loving every second of it! However, recently I wanted to play as a vampire character. After looking around at various mods, I settled on Cover Eyes: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4869 for the vampires eyes, because they look incredible. However, when I go into showracemenu - I can not get these eyes to show up for my female character. I about pulled my hair out trying to figure out why it wasn't working. Eventually, I tried switching my characters sex to Male - and the eyes show up. I have no idea why they won't show up for my female character. What's strange is, the black and red Orc eyes show up for her http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/4869-1-1325272294.jpg (The top one). But the red on red/yellow vampire eyes do not show up. http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/4869-4-1325272473.jpg (Top one) Does anyone have a clue what might be causing this? I even tried re-naming the vampire eyes file to another file that I knew was working (like blue eyes) and replaced it with that one, and it still doesn't show up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Everything is almost perfect for this character, it's just the eyes! My guess is, there is something weird with the vampire race, where it won't show up in the showracemenu, since technically you are defaulted to one of the main races. But that still doesn't explain why the Male character can have them in the slider. And why I can't just replace a blue eye texture with the vampire texture and get them to work. Here is a picture of my character with the Orc Eyes working: http://i.imgur.com/FXXzL.jpg And a picture of the vampire eyes working with a default Male character: http://i.imgur.com/oUGe1.jpg Sorry if the quality is a bit crap. letterbomb815
Have you tried using the vampire race eyes fix mod? I thought that mod/fix was only a fix for females who's eyes would turn brown instead of yellow when going vampire. I basically just want the vampire eyes to show up in the slider when I go to showracemenu. But let me try the fix and see if that solves the problem. Or maybe I'm mistaken and you can't have vampire eyes in the slider (showracemenu). Is this the mod you are talking about? http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3374
letterbomb815
I found out why the male character was able to have the vampire eyes. I had installed this mod: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8875 However, this mod only adds vampire eyes to the slider for males. =/ So what I gather is, the vampire eyes are usually not available in the showracemnu slide (because they are reserved for the custom races only once you turn), but this guy made a mod that adds the color to the showracemenu. But it's only for males. What I still don't understand (and to be honest I don't really understand how any of these mods actually work), is why I can't just replace an existing color file with the vampire file re-named. Why that texture just doesn't show up in the other ones place. I know why that won't work with this specific mod, as it needs to work with the .esm that came with it. But for the Cover Eyes mod, it doesn't use any file other then the texture files for the colors. What else doesn't make sense is, when I DO try what I said above, like say I replace blue eyes with the vampire color, I can't get it to show up in the racemenu, but then NPC's with blue eyes will have the vampire eyes. Blargh. Edited June 29, 2012 by letterbomb815
Sonreac
If your character is a vanilla race, add on Flan's eyes. There are tons in there. And they're good for both male and female. Heh, I forgot that the eye fix was only good for women types.
