Hello all.

Just dropping in to announce the release of RSE Elements Vol.1 - Combat Surrender and Abductions (featuring the Nemesis Narrative) and RSE Elements Vol.2 - Advanced Needs.

Both of these mods are taken out of my adult themed (NSFW) mod RSE and have been reworked to remove the NSFW elements and make them have more appeal to a wider audience.

About RSE Elements Vol.1 - CSA

This mod allows you to surrender to certain factions during combat, either by measuring your health or by your manual surrender. An included MCM offers a wealth of options to tailor your surrender conditions. Once you surrender, and based on the MCM options set, you will suffer penalties, be it being hurt (health), being crippled, being robbed, crawling to a random or nearest player owned Commonwealth settlement and possibly having your companion or yourself taken hostage. If your companion is taken, your sole goal is to rescue them from their captors. If you are taken, your sole goal will be to escape and to retrieve all of your gear, which will either be with the NPC who sold you into captivity or with one of your captors in the abduction cell. Abductions can be flagged via the MCM as hard core, whereby an extra set of captors is added to the imprisonment location. At this time, only raiders, gunners and super mutants can be surrendered to, which is a function of the abduction sites. There are around 20 or so different locations in the Commonwealth where you can be sent, depending on who takes you. Player abductions can be very challenging (frustrating), so I personally only recommend those into a challenge and not easily frustrated. Companion abductions on the other hand, add a nice new element to your game play, akin to the 'rescue the kidnapped settler' radiant quests. Rescuing your companions can also bump affinity. There is also an option in potential captor dialogue at the point of surrender where you can ask them to take your companion instead of you - if they agree to this, you will suffer an affinity hit with that companion, which of course, you offset when you rescue them. Robbery has different layers: (1) Basic weapons, armor, stimpacks and chems, (2) Utter robbery, where you lose everything, including collected scrap - all that remains in inventory, generally speaking, should be your MISC ITEMS, books, magazine, things like this. You can set via the MCM to have these robberies to be recoverable or not. Your choice, depending on how much of a challenge you want in your game. You can also try to bribe your way out of captivity, which is a function of your SPECIALs. Cost is 10 caps per player level. Bribing your way out of being abducted is a little more costly, but is at times possible.

About RSE Elements Vol.2 - Advanced Needs

This is my custom made survival mode replacer. It is intended to be used while in Very Easy through Very Hard mode. It will not allow you to activate it while in Survival Mode to ensure there are no conflicts with what I have done with the mod and what Beth has in place for survival. Essentially, it is everything survival mode is minus the weight for ammo, you have access to the console, you can save when you want and you can fast travel. But it is so much more than this. I have created a custom Immunodeficiency system with a series of afflictions and diseases that can be contracted in various way, be it from critter bites in combat, swimming in dirty water, consuming dirty food, even taking certain medications. There is a robust food and radiation poisoning system in place. Doctors can heal radiation poisoning (note that if you use Horizon or some other mod that alters GenericDoctorsScript, there could be conflicts). All afflictions and diseases have cures that can be made at chem labs or bought from various vendor types. This mod also includes the need to go to the bathroom. You can opt to go in the wilds (squatting in the bushes style) or build toilets in your settlements to use. This mod has two varieties of toilets to construct in the settlement build menu - two that any NPC can use and two that only the player can use (flagged as PRIVATE). Drinking water from bottles will give you an empty bottle. Radiation and food poisoning cause vomitting (actual vomit). Sleeping in dirty (unowned) beds, mattresses and sleeping bags out in the Commonwealth could inflict you with bedbugs. Ignoring your bathroom needs could give you a urinary tract infection. There are tonnes of things I do that Beth simply did not - but probably should have. All other things are more or less the same as vanilla survival. You need to eat and drink. You need to sleep. Failing to do these things carries debuffs. The included MCM has a cornucopia of options for you to play with to alter how the survival mechanics work. This mod also includes food spoilage whereby food items will degrade and become rotten. You can use these rotten items to construct lures for predatory animals, for hunting purposes. Be warned! Carrying too many spoiled food items could result in attracting a predatory critter that will hunt you down, rather than you hunting it via the traps and lures. You can opt to use normal survival mode sleep times for unowned beds or you can adjust the length via an MCM slider - so sleeping bags could have 24 hour usage, if you wanted. You can also set your incoming and outgoing damage multipliers, as well as natively set your respawn rates for cells and cleared cells. Essentially, Advanced Needs is the survival mode that MANY feel Bethesda should have made. Advanced Needs has been in use for roughly eight months in RSE and is well tested and bug free, aside from the bedbugs! And most importantly, as noted above, you have control over pretty much every aspect of Advanced Needs via the MCM. You can decide whether to impose a carry limit restriction. You can decide if stimpaks heal crippled limbs. You can decide if food items can heal you. You can decide if crippled limbs regenerate or not. Drinking from fountains, pumps, lakes and rivers is registered as a thirst quencher. You can refill bottles anywhere that you can drink. In short... Advanced Needs is what you want if Survival Mode is your thing. Included on the download page are a patch I made to add food items from DLC to consumables and also to include DLC critters to the predatory animals list for hunting and luring. Also, Hanaxar has provided a customized version of his RSE - Horizon patch (v1.6 of Horizon) that now works for RSE Elements Vol.2. Within the coming day or so I will also have a ported version of the CWSS patch that will allow the toilets from that mod to be used for Basic Needs (stay tuned to the download page to know when that conversion is completed).
