Launching through Mod Organizer instantly CTDS... sometimes.

More than half the times I try to open the game through mod organizer, it instantly CTDs with no error messages or anything of the sort. I know it's mod organizer doing this, because the game launches fine from steam, while a totally clean profile with no mods whatsoever is still prone to instantly crash if I try to launch it through MO. I was using the MO legacy thing, but in order to try and work around this ridiculous crashing, I've since switched to the most recent version of MO2. It didn't help. If anyone has any ideas, I'd really, really like to avoid having to switch back over to some other mod manager.

Just to reiterate, it's not mods causing this. It still does it on a clean profile with no mods.

MO (both old and new to my knowledge) work from an "empty Data folder" concept. Meaning only the vanilla game installed files and DLCs are present in the "Data" folder. Mods have a link copied there when they are "activated" in a profile. The base game has it's share of problems that "essential" mods are intended to fix.

Anytime the game "Crashes to the Desktop" (CTD) it's typically going to generate an error message in the Windows Eventlog. Please see the "Windows Error Messages" section of the wiki "How to read most Bethesda game error logs" article.

It is possible you need to tweak the MO configuration for launching FNV. That is something you need to take up with the MO support team. The "Windows Eventlog" error message is most likely to give them a clue. One thing is to be sure you have the "Steam Client" running (and detected) before launching FNV itself. See 'Issue: Application load Windows error(s)' under the 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' section of the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" article.
