losvenge
i know it would take awhile but if you could get all of the lore friendly weapons and Armour that are popular in the community as well as just some of you're favorites and implement in the game in this fashion that i am going to suggest rather then crafting them i think it would be a well received and welcomed idea all you need is a beggar npc call him something the wise and for a little coin he will share with you a rumor to the location of a chest in the form of a riddle and in that chest you could find one of these before mentioned items kinda like a radiant quest system you give him coin he gives you a quest that way it can be updated frequently are for some variation maybe a monster our boss of some kind that spawns in its respective cell once the quest is received and you would be able to loot the item that way just a idea i am not sure of the technical issues of this idea but i think if it can be accomplished someone should do it feel free to discuss below thank you for you're time Edited July 2, 2012 by losvenge
nxtech
that sounds fantastic! You should definitely try to make this happen. that mod could potentially add a ton of new content and replay value. I may be able to help if you find some other people with more expertise in using the creation kit. I really like making items so i could do that but thats all i know how to do at the time. losvenge
Thanks right now if this is mod idea is ever gonna come into fruition needs more mod developers to take a look at it as well as community feedback but i completely agree with you on the new content as well as the replay value i was also thinking where it could be a beggar in one town our hold in other parts of skyrim it could be a range of many npcs that way you can have these radiant quest-givers each with quests specific to there area in skyrim
splowdee
Sounds like it would be pretty awesome. Though I think it would be a perfect excuse to add back in or create some Morrowind caliber "artifacts" and not just normal lore friendly mods. Items of strange enchantments or incredible power are decidedly lacking in Skyrim IMO :) .
losvenge
I completely agree with that sentiment as well it would be amazing to get a since of a accomplishment again from finding a item in this game instead of how it is now where after awhile magic stops being so magical what happened to the once in a lifetime items where i have to battle 6 ogres and if i succeed i am granted a sword that does 75% more damage to ogres ha
Carah
Do you have an idea where the Wise beggar will be located. If you want to make it challenging. Have him wandering Skyrim.
nxtech
It would be too difficult to find him if he is just wandering around skyrim. i was thinking he could be located near the market in solitude.
winterlove
A nice notion. Allows characters who don't craft to find Good Stuff, while making the process of acquiring it more interesting than just finding it in random loot.
Sifka
This sounds interesting. please keep it up.Putting him at one place sounds great idea.I would rather suggest to put Wise begger at Riften or Whiterun.Solitude is nice place to find him, but he cannot sleep outside. I think it is too cold. (I'm not sure if he has a home)plus, there is thieves guild in Riften. I remember connection between thieves and beggars.Riften is their base and seinding wise begger as their ears and eyes to Whiterun also seems probable for me. losvenge
I do like the idea of having him wander all of skyrim so perhaps i was saying for there to be a range of non playable characters that give out these types of quest so in each capital there can be a beggar enlisted under the thieves guild as there eyes and ears it is much to cold in skyrim to sleep outside so he can take residence in what ever home he can break into for the night leaving the door unlocked for you if you want to come in and loot with him as well as start a quest and then for the quest giver that wanders all of skyrim he can be a thief/merchant who wanders skyrim for loot and is willing to sell you any of his finds for gold as well as tip you off to were you can get some really good stuff perhaps because this npc would be much harder to find cause he is always on the move he would let you know off items of a more powerful caliber then the items in the vanilla game as for the wise beggars in each of the holds capitals would only have knowledge of items that don't exceed the power of the vanilla weapons/amour/enchantments or whatever it may be
