Random CTD

And with no rhyme or reason. After I get a crash, I do the exact same thing, and it doesn't crash. Then it crashes fifteen minutes later. I do whatever I was doing when it crashed, and it doesn't. The crash never repeats itself. I haven't changed or added any mods to my list since I got it working stable (basicly just FCOM, it's recommended/suggested mods, kvatch rebuilt and exnem) however the crashes are happening more often.

I can handle a crash once in awhile, but the increasing frquency bothers me. At this rate by the time I hit level twenty I will have one every two minutes. if the mod list hasn't changed, is there something in or about oblivion that could cause this? Or do I have to assume that either this is just a terrible glitchy game, or one or more of my mods are causeing the problem?

Thanks, once again, for any support.

Usually only my anti-virus and utorrent. Though I forgot to get my torrents going, so that hasn't been, and I disabled avast and my network earlier to see if that had any effect, and it didn't.

However I did apply quiet feet (as it seems to fix many problems, more than it should) and I haven't had a crash in awhile now. Great mod. I recommend it. Need sleep now, so will continue testing/playing tomorrow. I am so close to having this game running properly I can taste it.

Oblivion isn't going to give you frequent CTDs by itself. It is when we add the mods into the mix. You need to use the Fcomhelper tool and OBMM to sort out your load order. You can also use OBMM to check for any major conflicts and of course, just make sure you're not using mods which do the same thing (like too many overhaul ones without using tools to "blend" them).

Other than that, make sure all of your system drivers are up to date and that you defrag regularly.

Good luck.
