What's with the HIDDEN Mods by there Authors

A mod I've used since realizing it was available on nexus has been hidden by its author. Is it available some where else or is the author just not allowing access via the Nexus.

 

Mod Name: "Buyable Golden Claw" by Ghaunadaur

 

Any info will be much appreciated.

Basically, for whatever reason, the author has chosen to hide it. It still exists, but it's literally hidden from the public until the author chooses otherwise.

My guess is they have found an issue they want to correct, and don't want people downloading it until it is corrected. That or there's a newer version or someone else has taken over, and they want to curtail use of the "old" one.

There are many reasons for mods to be hidden by the author: protest, mod is broken, felt like it, breaking the rules and using the Nexus as a storage space for private mods, cake, uploaded the wrong file, and so on.

I'm guessing there's a bit more to it in this case.

 

Ghaunadaur hid all his mods some time ago, as is his right to do although I'm not sure why. Which is too bad, since he's a very talented modder. His Proudspire Refurbished is still, imo, the best Proudspire mod there is and the main reason my char always ends up living in Solitude. It has amazing little details like an ever-changing type of dinner that's served up on the dining room table.
